Might this be a attempt at bad PR by the competition? After reading this kind of makes me think it is. It's like most have read misinformation and run with it.
When was it that any car required zero maintenance? If it has moving parts things either have to be lubed or have parts that wear and need replacing. I don't get this whole "well I'll have to do maintenance on it so it sucks" mantra that gets repeated time and again. It's a vehicle, it needs maintenance or it will not function correctly for long if it is abused. It would be nice if you could just drive and drive with no worry, but I don't care what car it is, it NEEDS maintenance.
Excuse me I meant to say MyDVR Expander and that is the only thing that will work with a Premiere. You just kept saying that yours is a HD device and inferred that since it is all HD Tivo's can connect to any external HHD. You also said you are connecting drives older then Tivo itself which would be impossible since even the HD box requires eSATA, then you went on to say you used a mac mini to stream iTunes, then said Tivo does it for you, etc. etc.
But yeah I'm the "idiot". Maybe you should go back and make sure what you are using and come back and post when you are quite sure and clear as to what you think you have.
Yeah, because IT people only deal with one type of person, answer to no one and only "wipe viruses" off people's computers.
And the costs of certs and education in the computer and network field is ALWAYS just a drop in the bucket compared to becoming a "licensed construction engineer" in any city or state. I mean they have that fee you have to renew every once in a while.
This is surely one thing I point out to anyone buying anything, certainly electronic. If the tape on the box is not smooth and is clearly not the factory seal then do not buy it no matter what BS the salesman hands you. Heard it all before.
Bought 2 Infinity speakers from Circuit City years ago and realized that, after seeing cracks in the speaker covers, that the tape job was sloppy and bunched together. Ended up having to take it to another location 10 miles farther away after the first location had nothing but opened boxes only to have the other location tell me the ones I had were listed as "in service" and should have been sent back to the factory.
That experience has me checking for evidence of a box being opened ever since. Have told salesmen to get me another many times and if they say it's the last, I say I can go elsewhere. Most times you'd be surprised how they "find" another that hasn't been opened before. Can't understand why they do this as they can send it back to the manufacturer and not have to pay for the device. Just trying to get away on the cheap because of shipping maybe?
Sorry dude it's just not possible on the Premiere box. I have dealt with enough to know that if it's the Premiere it HAS TO BE eSATA and HAS TO BE MyDVD Expander from WD if you just plug and play it. Nothing, I mean NOTHING else will work unless you get third party apps to accomplish it. It's also pretty well documented across the internet and you will never find a instance where a Premiere box user will have the occurrence that "everything just worked". Same goes with the Tivo HD boxes. Look it up.
The only drive that will work on a Tivo Premiere is their MyDVD Expander as another had stated. It has to be hooked up through eSATA so I am not really sure how a hard drive made before Tivo was even around would be able to do so since it came out in 1999 and eSATA wasn't standardized till 2004. To use a normal off the shelf external HHD you would need some sort of hack or third party software installed on the drive prior to installing it for use on a Tivo Premiere. It can be done, but if it's a Premiere it needs to be eSATA and needs the hack installed to work, or be Tivo's MyDVD Expander. You sure it's the Premiere device?
Yeah that's true for PHONE CALLS, but TFA is talking about texting and idiots that seem to think they need to type things while driving. I can say with out a doubt that texting while driving is WAY more dangerous then even holding your phone and talking. Sure neither is safe, but one is not constantly looking at their phone to type the correct message. Really, if you are in a car and get a text, CALL THE PERSON, it is safer and be diligent about paying attention to the road. You are driving a heavy vehicle that could easily kill people, show a little responsibility.
What ever happened to letting a film stand on it's own as a classic over time? It's not like these (at least the first three) were not well loved. To keep messing with them with every new technology is ridicules. The present rendition of 3-D is gimmicky at best and picture is less then impressive. If you like motion blur and RGB highlights on everything then the new 3-D is for you, but if you want a clear, vivid picture then a new LED is the way to go and skip this generation of cheesy 3-D. Even the 3-D in the theaters is less then impressive. The only 3-D that I have seen that was a real WOW was movies done at Disney's parks. Sad that even those from 20 years ago blow the current theater 3-D away and destroy the experience of 3-D tv all together.
Hey how about a simple check gate that doesn't allow reversal of air flow in the system. Cost would be cheaper then anything and pretty easy to implement in a number of areas in the system. Something like what keeps the air in a air mattresses when pressure is removed from a unplugged air nozzle.
So you can't read my post either??? I posted a direct quote of what the opponents say about the TAX CUT FOR SMALLER BUSINESSES. I felt you already know what the supports have said. The opponents say it will hurt small businesses and the supports say it won't. GO FIGURE!
I feel that way too, but the younger generations seem to not care if it is in a terrible looking format that is fuzzy and messy. I really don't get that. When I got my Blu-ray player I was blown away and pretty much stopped purchasing regular DVD's. The kids could care less. It's almost like a youtube effect. They have accepted crappy pictures as a norm. Maybe at one point they will want better or they will just get used to better as the streaming content improves over time. If the later happens then I would say that physical content would become more and more rare.
Washington is struggling to provide the basic services its citizens deserve and expect, like quality education and healthcare. I-1098 will provide $2 billion a year to education and healthcare programs and create a stable revenue stream to fund these services for years to come.
Gee that sounds just like the article had it. So where is this inaccurate article you talk of???
The opponents say on their site:
"The 1098 income tax squarely hits small business owners, effectively doubling the cost of the current Business & Occupation tax. Sixty eight percent of those earning $200,000 or more are small business owners. These businesses pay 70 percent of the small business wages and pay 80 to 90 percent of the state’s B&O tax burden. They provide jobs, buy goods and services and help drive our state’s diverse economy. This tax would weaken our fragile economy at precisely the wrong time"
So I guess it depends on who you believe. Is that enough actually reading for you?
I would think the fact that they force such high taxes on their citizens. Do you really think a 41% tax rate is necessary to maintain a functioning welfare system? A welfare system that just gets bigger and bigger every year. It has forced everyone there in to a middle class weather they deserve it or not. They have no staying power of their smart, educated, entrepreneur. If they make large amounts of money they most likely leave to not have to give almost half of it away because the government forces them to. It is a status quo society that is alright where it is and doesn't push to become anything bigger. If reaching for nothing higher because you think your content on paying high taxes that discourage economic growth on a personal level because your government thinks it knows what is better for you I would call it quite tyrannical.
I'm sorry, but how does taxing people have anything to do with Henry Ford or the economy? Is the state going to give the money to corporations to hire more people and pay more to their mid level employees?
The rise in the top income isn't because the top level execs are not taxed enough. It's because of corporate greed and CEO's and the like never having to answer for their misdoings. For one a publicly traded company's share holders should be able to go after a CEO or other execs if it can be shown that they did nothing to improve the company and bilked a hefty severance out of it.
There has also been a systematic dismantling of the view of unions in this country. I would venture to say that this was a consorted effort, or at least some following others examples, to discredit and defame all unions based on actions of a small minority of union members or even planting union "officials" that subvert the goal of the unions to one's that would draw the ire of the public. I am not a union member but I know that if it wasn't for them businesses would subject it's employees cruel conditions when not necessary, pay would be drastically less, and employers would ride employees in to the ground with no benefits what so ever.
So you are using the WORLDS HIGHEST TAXES as a barometer for what you think taxes should be? Just because the danes think welfare is it's most important thing doesn't me the rest of the world should support such asinine behavior. Basically your government is a tyrannical corporation.
It's a tablet that wants me to print out things that I would have bought the tablet for to read them on?
Really, what's with HP and it's need to push printers in directions no one wants or sees a need for? Why not make a palm phone that is nothing more then a printer remote? That seems equally useless.
I'd say with Vista and 7 the firewall is good enough that you don't have to use a third party software. The XP firewall is very basic and only monitored (controlled) incoming traffic. So If you got something nasty on your system it would do nothing to stop it from phoning home. 7 and Vista can monitor outbound traffic also so that alone make them much better solutions. 7's firewall goes even farther then vista's giving the user ability to configure multiple policies for different environments, nice for a notebook that connects to multiple networks.
I have tried a couple of different software versions for XP boxes, because contrary to what others say XP's firewall is not really very safe regardless of what service pack you have installed. I have tried Comodo's and ashampoo's (in addition to ZA) offerings. Comodo had a feature that it was supposed to "learn" your surf habits and adjust accordingly to be less intrusive over time. Never happened no matter what I did and Comodo just kept asking and asking for permissions for every little thing, even multiple instances for the same program. I'm sure it is very secure, but I think it is going a little overboard on it to a level that I feel I do not really need. Ashampoo I just did not like at all. The interface seems clunky and its gap from easy mode to expert mode was vast, too vast and need a in between setting to make it feel safe but not locked down. I went back to ZA on my XP boxes after using the other 2 long enough for a couple versions of ZA to pass. The reason I went away from ZA was the bloat, but with (ver 9.2) the newer version the bloat didn't seem to be the issue it was before. I didn't care for the "you might have this virus" pop-up, but I can read and see it was a ploy to get me to buy the full version. Sneaky and under-handed as it might be, I'll stick with it for now till I get another chance to try some others.

What is it diamond grit?
Wow you must have some GREAT karma going. Guess it takes one to know one. I bow before your superior stupidness!

Sounds like the request came down from the administration.
Couldn't they just pinpoint the area, put some sort of device that concentrates it to cook some steaks?
"Come and enjoy our aged kobe beef, seared to perfection by the deadly rays of our parabolic hotel in a pool side setting."

So will mana potions be replaced by Jesus juice?
Also will all the dungeons smell of doodoo feces?

Yep went to the proponents site myself. It says:

That's funny TFA says
"Proceeds from the income tax would be used for health services and public education"
Too bad you didn't RTFA to see what it was ACTUALLY about.

Is this why latin is a dead language? Can't even translate right!
