    Both OSes suck.

    The Spinning Pizza Wheel Of Death is bloody annoying.

    In true Slashdot style though, I can't imagine much worse than Windows.

    Linux kinda sucks too, manufacturer support would be nice here, though there'd still be suckiness left.

    I'm not intentionally trolling, it all sucks to varying degrees. Otherwise we wouldn't care.

    I said WALK. So your joke should go along the lines of "after all, dragging a city sized tank of liquid nitrogen across the atlantic ocean isn't too much of a chore once you get used to it".

    Of course, if you're gunna accept swimming as a walking substitute, you could also consider meandering about a cruise ship a decent substitute too.

    Today, there is WAY too much demonstrable legal use of BitTorrent to make the claim that it was created for the sole purpose of distributing copyrighted works without authorization.

    I wouldn't have guessed after trying a few searches on bittorrent.com.

    Bittorrent usage will have to change, radically, if it is to look like something other than a pirate net from the searching end...

    Know of any search terms that don't flood the screen with illegal crap?

    Well, I keep mentally gagging on the term "podcast" myself. Its not like the iPods have any transmit/recieve ability at all.

    Yeah, I can see this.

    Wacky proprietary software going "gee, power levels are going down sharply, I think I'll initiate a modem disconnect to whatever field in that webpage you're using, even though I'm on broadband, and then maybe I'll catch fire or something.

    I killed the ads when they started moving and flashing alot. When they make ads, they apparently don't care if they P-O their target audience or not. (if you want my money, don't annoy me)

    I however do support Slashdot through reasonable additional commentary and moderation. I've considered ditching /. for all the pointless junk they've been posting as stories though.

    Further, Slashdot doesn't really support itsself well, cheerfully wasting bandwidth on broken HTML (inciting reloads, and numerous unaddressed comments regarding said brokenness), repeat stories, and so forth.

    I feel no guilt here.

    The premise in court is (right or wrong) that the Music Industry is losing thousands per filesharer, for a specific reason. That is, each song available for download is being downloaded by thousands of people, and each of those downloads costs the RIAA membership the sale of a CD. Thousands of downloads * CD sale = mucho cash.

    If the RIAA is loosing a whole CD sale per song downloaded, even if multiple songs from the same CD are being downloaded. Well, the courts have a mighty fine reality distortion field up...
