It's not that they missed their date because they were busily fixing bugs and adding new features; they missed it because they're just not doing that much right now. There's no management, there's very little direction, and there's really not that much going on at all. That's not a good thing. Isn't slashdot great?! You can make wild and unsubstantiated claims and be modded up.
Jonathan Schilling, a 53-year-old software developer from New Jersey who works to keep Hillary Clinton's Wikipedia entry clean and fair throughout the election season.
Let's hope Jonathan isn't as 'fair' as the writer of the article summary. Jeebus.
Well maybe he/she is not as mercenary as yourself. If one believes in the FOSS movement and its principles, then there is nothing wrong with putting it in a spec. It would be good for us all if more people did that.
Wales and the Wikimedia Foudation came down hard on the editor who leaked Durova's email. After it was posted to the public forum, the email was promptly "oversighted" - i.e. permanently removed. Then this rogue editor posted it to his personal talk page, and a Wikimedia Foundation member not only oversighted the email again, but temporarily banned the editor. This is a disgrace if true. Basically this sounds like the 'clique' on the mailing list are in control *and* have the support of the foundation. There seems to be no discussion on preventing this. I would say the discussion and exposure of lists like this is very important.
Mobile phone operators in the UK *must* unlock phones when requested to. They are allowed to charge a reasonable admin fee (£10-£20). I think this is just talk to keep O2 happy to be honest.
Nope, tried it at mine. Lightning (a must if you are going to be using Thunderbird in the work place) missing decent native shared calendaring support. This is big stopper. But if you have users that do not require it, go for it. I've rolled it out for our laptop users, i.e users not connected to the exchange server..
Yeah, it looks nice. But this could not be used in a work environment. Email stored remotely like this would be an impossible sell.
I would have thought they would have integrated lightning (an integrated calendar extension, currently on 0.3). Again, I would love to have this built in...ah well Thunderbird 2.5?:)
I'm liking the new episodes but.... The doctor and his assistant should never kiss! There should be no romance there..lets hope this new series doesn't go the way of 'Torchwood'. I mean sex monster aliens? bah
Firefox has an extension called customizegoogle. It adds a 'filter' option to a google results page. Allows one to filter out the sneaky pages that hi-jack your search query.
who has no use for the program but downloaded it anyway because it was free? /me gets his coat
Really interesting post. As an aside:
Did a quick google on baboon hunting.... found this site:

They're are some crazy people out there.
Always love a Ghostbusters quote :)

The British advertising authority think it's ok to advertise as Unlimited as long as they have the 'fair use' policy, or cap in the small print.
So in the UK unlimited no longer means unlimited. Excellent work, no?

Sounds like a good guy to me! I remember hating the 'method' thing myself when learning java.
"afraid to buy a CD because it might "have a virus on it".
I think people care more about price.
Is there a pay-per-post thing happening right now? These 'foxit' posts seem suspect...

woah, you learn something everyday.. although I'd like to hear it from a source other that amd! ;)
Not sure compiling a 32-bit program on a x86-64 platform automatically means it takes advantage of the x86-64 platform
So when the 5 year deal runs out... will Novell be able to renew it? I would presume not..good news, no?
umm no 'we' weren't.

1. A shared calender :) )
2. An integrated Calendar
3. Exchange support a la evolution (even if it just supports a few features
I have introduced Thunderbird to my work place to a limited extent. But these features would allow me to push its introduction further.
This is so true, if I had mod points I would throw some at you.
Honestly, it's like people think 'bloggers' are important. Perspective needed.

It needs JS enabled to work.
guys said it best.
