People are a problem. Best quote ever! One day, I will earn mod points again. Damn this Karma! Oh, and Douglas Adams is right. People are a problem. As long as people think selfishly and fail to realize that other people are not the cause of all their problems then this world will continue to be a scary place.

*I'm pretty much done with PC gaming, simply because I vowed that I'd never buy another video card again. Like the PvP comic, I'm not going to spend hundreds of dollars to upgrade my system so it can be obsolete in a year. I play COD4, World of Warcraft, World in Conflict and many others on a AMD 2000+ and an Nvidia 6600. This sytem sells for less than $150 on my local classified ads and I've had the processor for over 4 years. That is significantly less than ANY of the gaming platforms out there. Now granted, if you want the latest and greatest and want to play Crysis at over 30+ FPS then you're going to need one helluva computer. But most games run just fine on older hardware.

I miss the good ol' album days. Ever listen to an album so much that when you hear one of the songs on the radio or in an mp3 playlist you expect the next song from the album to come on? I remember making a mix tape in high school and during a Pearl Jam song the tape would stick for a brief second and keep playing. Every time I hear Alive I hear that damn click in my head still. Part of the magic of albums was how one song would lead into another. The experience of listening to the whole album was never the same as just one or two hit songs from it. The album was greater than the sum of its parts.

In fact, I bet the good geeks left at Microsoft probably agree with you too, but because they have been sued and locked into anti-trust lawsuits for including a friggin' internet browser with their operating syste. So I doubt they are inclined to include any type of encyption that's worth a damn lest they get sued by a million users because they accidentally encrypted their vacation video and can't remember the password for getting their encrypted file back.

You would think that the German people would look back on their own history and say "Never again!"

If America did that with the Japanese Concentration camps then maybe we wouldn't have Guantanamo. Someone posted above about how it "may" be that the US Government is already doing this (except in greater detail) but they are doing so in secret.

So my question is; what's worse? Being led to fascism secretly or openly?

    1. Lots of incompatable software. Lots of companies use software that isn't compatable with Vista.

    2. It's expensive! Why upgrade your machines so you can run Vista that isn't compatable with lots of software?

    3. People are wising up. Upgrade fever is really only common with enthusiasts anyways. There's no need to drop endless amounts of cash for upgrades when what you have is really working. I just watched someone finally upgrade to XP because 2000 didn't have a feature that they needed. Ha... they are only now "upgrading" to XP. The great thing about it is that they don't need to update the hardware.

Vista is great for the PC Enthusiasts out there and it may advance home computing by some degree but I don't see it taking off in the commercial work place for several years. Or atleast, until the Microsoft nazis round up every last installation disk of XP and stop supporting XP. God, I can only imagine what would happen if they stopped supporting XP. Anyone know when that might actually happen?

Since I picked up my first science fiction book I have been fascinated with the idea of making a bionic eye. An eye that could see near and far. Eagle eye vision and microscopic vision. With the improvement of liquid crytsal lenses like this it seems possilbe. Just imagine losing an eye in an accident and then having it replaced by an electronic eye that can focus near or far and it's all controlled by brain waves. Now, if we could just incorporate a digital camera somehow. Hehe. That'd be awesome.

  20. Re:FUD on 26 Common Climate Myths Debunked · · Score: 0

We all watched "The Day After Tomorrow". Great flick and all but even if it does warm up over time, it'd take decades for it to effect the ocean currents. I think it'd be easy for everyone to agree on two things, the earth is changing, and we need to do our best to make sure it doesn't hurt us in the end. I know several conservative Christians who think that believing in Global Warming somehow negates God's power. They equate it to believing in the theory of Evolution. They usually bash anyone who believes in the theory of evolution and bash anyone who thinks Global Warming is true. Well, Genetics alone nearly proves that evolution occurs and data collected over the last 150 years shows that our earth is warming up. Whether or not God controls all of this has nothing to do with the fact, that if we ignore either, we're doomed to extinction. Put that in your Bible.
