... just like parent, this explains why I am very leery of trusting too much of my data that I might need to access at a moment's notice to cloud computing companies such as Google even though I do use a number of their applications.

I understood what you meant about Smash Bros. Brawl's hype being one of the best marketing strategies for any game ever. I've been diligently reading up every weekday morning to find out new tidbits of information on this game. I plan on buying it the day it comes out because I am a big fan of the series. My sarcastic reply to your post was meant as an acknowledgement that Spore definitely has been overhyped for its current level of progess. It has been touted as the game that will take the crown as Best Game Ever, but with so many expectations and delay after delay in my opinion it is starting to sound like Duke Nukem Forever. Until we get a firm release date or a playable demo, I will stand by that opinion.

And pray do tell us, what is the release date of Spore on any platform? I'm starting to feel that getting excited for the release of Spore is like getting excited for the release of Duke Nukem Forever...

Just because a system has more processing power for the GPU and CPU does not mean that the internals are similar or capable of outputting the same graphics. It should be noted that the XBOX has more advanced pixel shaders and lighting capabilities than the Wii, so just because the Wii's CPU and GPU have higher clock speeds doesn't mean they can magically replicate what the XBOX could. Think of replacing your old P4 1.7 Ghz processor with a new Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz but still keeping your old nvidia MX 2 GPU. There are lots of other reasons but this shall suffice for now.

Taking safe and small profitable investments follows capitalism from the past few centuries. The market leaders are rarely the ones who come up with industry changing inventions or developments. The Wright Brothers (two bicycle salesmen) invented the airplane, European church bell makers developed the first major productions of cannons in the 18th century, and Xerox and AT&T developed many computers and important software products during the early age of computers. Usually it is a company or person who has much to gain and is willing to risk alot that ends up driving the industry forward. Congrats Nintendo.

Have you even read about Ubisoft and their 7 launch titles including Red Steel and Rayman Raving Rabbids plus their 7 other titles to hit by March 2007 or a little game called Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz by Sega? How about Capcom's Elebits? You want 3rd party games that can't be duplicated with other controllers and there's just 4 off the top of my head.
