    That's not interesting hardware. Interesting hardware is "not either underpowered or ridiculously overdone." I have no need for a Mini or a Mac Pro, no matter how I slice it. Apple's hardware is pathetic.

    but still, apple has the most innovative daily use design.

    Innovative is not exclusive of "bad".

    If you never tried, or if you tried 5 years ago you can criticize as much as you like, it's pointless.

    I work at a place with about 40 OS X machines running Leopard. It's shit.

    Um, what? AMD's processors are terrible these days. There's a reason they're absolutely bleeding money: they're being killed in all segments of the processor market by Intel.

    It really makes me wonder, why on earth developers don't all switch to the mac? Price is definitely not an excuse anymore, and compatibility issues are tales from ages ago.

    Because the Mac is an irksome piece of shit with a bad UI and uninteresting hardware.

    What is best is that the open source community continue it's uninfluenced progress toward the time when all software is developed in the same manner.

    You almost sounded reasonable until this line. Open-source software is not a fucking obligation. Who the hell are you to dictate what I can and can't do with something I create?

    The problem is inertia, people wanting that all applications work exactly the same to what they are used to, irrespective of any tangible benefits that could be obtained by learning the new interface.

    Expose a completely new person to any given kind of software and he will not be so judgmental about the quality of a GUI.


    This isn't relevant, though, if you want people to switch to whatever you use.

    Personally I think Intel should get fined anyhow. AMD needs a little help to make sure they survive. If AMD bites the dust we all loose in a big way.

    If AMD dies, someone else will take their place. Intel has done nothing that other industries don't do and punishing them for making better chips than AMD and exploiting that advantage is immoral. (Because that's what this really boils down to--AMD is not as equipped for survival as Intel is, and is suffering for it.)

    P2P is advertising and MP3s are free samples of a far better commodity.

    This is disingenuous. The difference between a 256kbps MP3 and an audio CD is negligible and you know it.

    The complaints about copyright--and I might add that holding copyrights does not make you an expert, though it might make you an outlier--boil down to "I can get it for free, so I want it for free."
