If news companies want to make money they should do more than reprint the same stories that everyone else is running from the wire service.
Getting reporters to actually work and dig up stories and write about interesting angles, so that they provide unique useful stories, and then they might have something worth selling.
They're jarring because compared to other TV shows, they're using them in a way that is not natural.
Why would cops on a crime scene use video chat? If they had to show someone back in a lab something immediately in a way that needed interactive explanation or real time feedback from the person they were talking to. They wouldn't use it to simply say "hey, we're gonna drop by your lab in a few minutes"
It's also about the shots. Whenever they pull in somewhere they make sure they have a nice long shot of the chevy logo, it's obviously being done for product placement and not story elements. Normally in a show they'd only do that if the character was rolling up in some kind of incredibly fancy car and they wanted to show off how rich/lucky the person was.
or how they basically try to replace the use of the word google as a verb.. google has become synonymous with search the same way kleenex has with tissue. Even if you're using a non-kleenex tissue, a lot of people will call it a kleenex. Their attempting to make "bing" a thing, just grates hard.
Windows phone? same as the car logo. Normally in a show if someone does something on the phone, they don't even show the interface, unless it's for effect in a dramatic situation. In Hawaii 5-0 they make a point of getting the character to hold up the phone and it zooms in to show the only person on the planet who seems to be happy using windows 8.
There might be more natural ways to work at least some of those things in without the need to hit viewers over the head with them.
In Hawaii 5-0 the product placement is ridiculously heavy. A character can't walk 2 feet without needing to hold up their windows phone and make an unnecessary skype call, and it's apparently impossible to catch a bad guy in anything but a chevy. They are how to do it wrong.
He's a pretty shit doctor. I've continued to watch in the faint hope that it will get better, and thankfully with a regeneration coming up, maybe..just maybe..
He is apparently channelling old grade 6 math text books as searching for "$8 for a ticket and then $5 for a popcorn" gives a top result of an elementary school text book and some blog posts from 2008....
no it's really not. The first one was awful, and the second was no better. The games were buggy and broken and remained so. The company did little more than pay lip service to it's customers while shovelling DLC at them.
It takes nothing away from industrious dads. I'm not saying he wasn't industrious, I'm saying they're implying he managed this because he was an industrious dad which is just false. He was an entrepreneur, trained in the field, and had friends/contacts that worked in the field and let him use equipment.
Who happens to be a biotech entrepreneur... it's like saying charismatic dad leads hundreds of millions, when writing about obama.. let's not leave out key pieces of information here.
Can we, as a world, just be done with America already? Can we get say North Korea, or Cuba to invade and give them back the human rights they've lost?
It is just beyond reason that a country that is so willing to completely fuck itself up is in the position of power that they are in.. the other 95% of the world is just getting tired of it.
It's little shock that when you see such asinine text in a summary that timothy's name is attached to it.
I'm not really sure what we couldn't expect to make up here? That a very important and sensitive meeting doesn't allow recording equipment, even the companies own recording equipment? Wow.. what a plot twist. No one saw that coming, not even Kreskin.
Seriously timothy, give your head a shake, and if that doesn't work, let someone else shake it for you. I'm sure you could find a few takers.
This sounds like an SNL skit What are the charges? Everything everything? yes. Everything including...? then go on to read through a list of really weird outdated laws
So all she developed was a filter plugin? Really? Like these don't exist already? I find it extremely hard to believe that no one has developed a plugin like this yet for removing tweets based on hashtags or keywords.
They ticked me off when they made anything but their own file format be an "export" option instead of a save. I had started using gimp prior to that, and was getting into it. When they did that it annoyed me enough that I went to photoshop.
While AMC and HBO create some decent shows, british TV still kicks all kinds of ass. Broadchurch, which just ended yesterday was quite impressive, there are at least a dozen to two dozen series every year which are very good.
You mean the poor excuse for a rail system in Canada? Via has fallen into near non-existence in recent years. You might as well try and blow up a covered bridge out in the middle of nowhere to disrupt traffic flow.
How else are they more or less going to keep indefinitely doing a movie a year? They've got to move on to other things after episode 9. George only had 3 scripts left for that series, and once those are done, what would they do? They've either got to write their own or move into the wealth of Star Wars novels that are already out there. The good news with those is that they've already got years of feedback about a lot of them so they can get an idea of what the fans liked.
I expect we'll see a mix. They obviously want to do episode 7/8/9 but.. they have a wealth of source information out there. Tons of books.. What they'll probably do is have a team working on the "Core" movies and other teams filming other movies. Based on other books/characters/etc that will help keep it a little fresher.
The Sims has been doing this for a long time, and really lots of games could use in-game advertising Any sports game could have sponsors, any game set in modern times could probably have it. Any game set in the near future could probably use current brands and even a post apocalyptic game could have product placement... Fallen Skies had Choco pies.

they should care, because it makes me even less likely to get a windows phone or give money to the company.

I think once you're done with it, he'll just see if there is any left.
He's a pretty shit doctor.

someone somewhere still has to have the physical media, I'd rather have it myself.

It took me all of 5 seconds to find this one after I submitted that comment:

This is timothy we're talking about. He was trained by Kdawson, or they're one in the same. In his mind, this makes perfect sense.

Do you really think it's just every other government on earth that does this, but the US government doesn't play dirty?
