The summary's statement that the researchers have "identified" perforins as the causative agent of cell membrane perforation is misleading, that has been known for quite some time, as you mention.

You are quite right. Perhaps the sentence would have been more accurately phrased as the researchers having identified the mechanism of how perforin works. I don't have any experience in this field and this is a mistake on my part. Rest assured that this mis-statement is unintentional and I hope my future submissions will be of higher quality.

Yes, in Simplified Chinese, "dry" and "do" are written the same; but they are pronounced differently. There can be no confusion when spoken. Just one of the downfalls of an online translator I suppose.

The cost of being all-inclusive can be too high for some budgets. The same could be said for supporting minor browsers, such as Safari. Ideally developers would code to the standard and could say with reasonable confidence that the website would work with any standards-compliant browser. It is, however, a sad case that individual browsers had to be tested and supported due to poor or insufficient compliance. I believe most browsers are very good in that regards and getting better.

  21. Decisions, decisions. on Dell Opens Up About Desktop Linux · · Score: 2, Insightful

I thought part of doing business is about making the right (highly subjective) decisions at the right time. This is just another decision that they will have to make. They could have chosen to install a selected few distros depending of the type of computers. Debian on a server, or maybe strike a deal with Red Hat or Novell and install RHEL or SuSE. On the desktop, they could have installed Ubuntu or Mandriva. But hey, if they like to install something else instead, that's a good thing! It will still a start for wider support and acceptance of Linux distros. Or they could have decided to not install any Linux distros by default and maybe miss a great chance. Who knows?
