GPLv2 Vs. GPLv3

I think your post is all right, but I however don't love the GPL, I'll post my opinion as a reply in order to let more people notice your post.
I don't understand why should the GPL be the way it is right now, as in, I still do not understand if I am forced to GPL my software for USING a GPLed library.
My own way of thinking how a perfect OS license would work is that you shouldn't be forced to make your program GPL as well, but you would be forced to distribute source code of the library if and only if one of the next events arise:
You modified the library's code
The library's source code is not easily unavailable and another person requested it from you
But the fact is that several years (2 actually) after I found out about the GPL I am STILL TOTALLY UNABLE to know what is the right way to use a GPLed library, as you said it depends on what project you are doing, I decided to choose Zlib license for my project since it is not really anything serious and whatever improvement done to it and released proprietary is unlikely and if it happens I expect it would be easy to clone it, aka it is way easier not to use GPL for this project. But there are still issues with the libraries I sometimes need, people seem to release the most useful free ones under GPL...
You must be skeptical, this tv station was just part of the opposition fireworks, If anyone can fake videos are them, specially if it is for self-defense.
Of course, for an European or American citizen this wouldn't make sense but in Latin America the media are just part of the good old corporative empire that was always allied to corrupt governments (aka the owner of the stations were family with the leaders OR even the leaders themselves) it is not hard to find a TV station owned by a political party in LA, seriously.
Of course, this doesn't mean Chavez is a saint, he is just moving his country's media from an over biased right to a biased left, both of which are very bad.
But seriously, this is not about freedom of speech, it is about corrupt media corporations battling a corrupt government.
Did Novell just signed an agreement that doesn't really help them at all? I mean, from MS' view anything linux can be a clone thus this deal does not protect anyone from getting sued from MS it seems that MS' intrinsic fear of going to court in a patent suit does much more to protect Novell users...
Isn't your non-analyst "The WII is here to stay and dominate" pretty much an unfounded generalization as well? Like "I love the WII"=>"The WII will dominate".
In this place I own an ipod nano and almost everyone else owns a sony mp3 player o_O , and I only own an ipod nano because I won it in some contest. 3rd world is funny I guess.
I just don't get it why some people feel so threatened about the "don't be evil" motto. It is just a motto! getting tired of guys that do all the efforts possible to demonstrate it is not true...
Only the 3 races, wc3 having 4 races forced a lot of redundancy and made balancing harder.
The screenshots are impressive.
In the FAQ it is stated it will be fully compatible with windows XP and still the blizz trend for Mac compatibility (which also means opengl mode will be enabled. No directx 10 dependency and that, people is a great thing
I just wish my firefox was actually like that, and not with bookmarks that survive perfectly fine after every auto-update. It would help me keep a clean bookmarks folder, it is getting filled too much recently.
But seriously man, I am yet to see firefox go above 120MB, I've seen some trolls saying it can get to 500MB! And who cares if you are not able to play those FULL SCREEN games and have your browser open at the same time? And is it so difficult to got to options\Advanced\Set cache size to 0, there should you go if you got infinite bandwidth and a tendency to open a lot of other applications while browsing?
Oh my god, I just hate how frequent this flamebait is, people won't switch to opera, seriously get over it.
And since firefox is such a friging resource hog I guess that's the reason it wasn't ported to OLPC...
Fuck you. I don't need those extra 20MB I would gain with opera, I don't really need any 200 miliseconds I would gain by browsing faster, I do use a lot of handful plugins, and I am happy with it.
I think software should not be discriminated on the basis of not being FOSS.

Anyone else remembers the Simpsons' Nuclear submarine episode?

Perhaps it is stealth advertising for Sharp Develop, don't forget MONO !
Kids will just download games like they already do.
They were damn smart at making it a felony to sell and not give away else I can think of the American army getting jailed for a serious felony...
I am confussed!

You just did! *prepares lawyers* (I got the slow down cowboy message, seems I type as fast as a bot...)
Reading the article itself you get to figure, they haven't even sold 1million Zunes yet. They plan to sell them by June...

What is Steve Ballmer's uncle going to do with 1000000 zunes?
Could you get more content? This one is pretty outdated, you used to take less time to update...
Well if something has proved that viral marketing is good to make deficient technology popular is Python.
For the article writer a product's maturity solely depends on its age.... *thumbs down* I wanted an interesting read and got this?
yay for defining the opposite of a community ! does common-unity ring a bell?
Parent is wrong about grand parent not being a troll. The guy complained about it taking 0.25MB! that's a troll for you.

I wish I was Swiss so I could wash my clothes with Linux!

Fuck you. I don't need those extra 20MB I would gain with opera, I don't really need any 200 miliseconds I would gain by browsing faster, I do use a lot of handful plugins, and I am happy with it.
You just need another big one FUCK YOU.
