Comparing a fiction book with myspace? What? Reading fiction books IS legitimate research, my god! do you know what literature is? Libraries are for everyone, sure, but you don't go to a library to write your diary, do you?
Imagine that there was a whole section in the library with empty notepads that you can use to write about your girlfriend and last week's party.
A library is an educational building, or at least it was last time I checked. It would be like allowing kids to play with their nintendo DS during classes. Is that freedom of speech? Would prohibiting nintendo DS during classes be considered snobbish?
I guess it would be quite fun.
PS: Is anyone wondering why did that website had "subscriptors only" messages not only available for the public but only accessable by links?
I hate Java. But I think that for linux it would be a necessary evil. And Sun's efforts to open source it are a winning step towards a huge market.
The ONLY thing required is that one of the mainstream distros begins to include it by default. I am predicting it would be Fedora or Ubuntu. Then it might change the whole way things work, and yeah, I am talking about the whole you-got-to-compile-software jazz. It scares away normal users, and packages taking ages to get to a new version make users unable to get rid of compiling a program.
Nah, the CDs sold in the streets are warranted to be 100% virus free, they are generally the same you could get in torrents, there is no a big conspiracy to turn comps into zombies that way, it is easier to just exploit the windows vulnerabilities so you don't even have to depend on piracy
Hmmm, in total I think I bought like 6 pirated windows CD in the streets of my country, I needed win98 then the other win98, then XP then the other XP then the 3rd XP. And then I lost my 3rd XP cd and I had to buy it again. (comps don't come with an OS since we build them)
You are either ignorant about how windows 95 was or ignorant about how linux is doing in the desktop. Either that or are exaggerating to put emphasis in your words, which is kind of dump. To say that today's linux can't touch windows 95 is so false it hurts.
I am unable to see the stats on solaris x86 overtaking linux on the server.
As a gamer I don't really care on directX at all. Enhanced graphics are overrated and when you count vista's Issues it is not worth it. Of course we are only taking about personal opinions out there, we all know that the bunch of zombies......err users... will stay with Vista.
Yeah, the ipod is just a friging mp3 or other stuff player with DRM, for god's sake don't make a hype out of it, stylish hardware shouldn't be the standard for mass acquiring stuff.
And is it really a fork? Highly doubt they wouldn't use GPL to license this studio thing, and it is likely they would use gtk so it is unlikely there would be anything that would prevent this to go to other distros.
Why is Google using inconsistent terminology in its products for such an important term? Is there a real difference between a tag and a label?
Does anyone else find this sentence utterly ridiculous? I do. I for one don't really care about whether google calls them tags or labels and I am unable to see how it is an important term.
I think he meant that OOP is still having compat issues when saving/loading office macros. If you ask me it is a good thing, vba is just wrong, seriously.
Why is slashdot so interested latelly in me joining citizendium?

I guess this means search engines in general should only show URL results and nothing else, heck even the title of the page may be copyrighted.s ter
http://flyingspaghettimonster.org/
http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Mons ter
http://blog.pietrosperoni.it/2005/08/28/duck-and-c over-and-the-flying-spaghetti-monster/
Then a "totally legal" search for flying spaghetty monster would look like this:
http://www.venganza.org/ http://www.venganza.org/games/index_large.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Mon
I guess it would be quite fun.

Isn't this already possible? Hmmm I recall code::blocks is made with C++ and it is the same on windows and Linux...
Could we stop making dumb mistakes with code? pretty please? Java is not really going to protect software from inept programmers.

No, they can't.
You on the other side cannot take away their right to decide what they are hosting on their server either.

With all the medicine advances for mice, they might even conquer the world eventually.
But that does not necesarily mean you were doing anything illegal? Bittorrent might be used to download stuff that is huge but free?
I think this is more evidence of US being anti french.
May I complaint? Why did this post get +5 insightful? It is so full of foo foo...

My friend you make 2 year old sound as if it was as old as you could do, which it isn't . My comp is 4 years old and it is not exactly archaic

Yeah, common sense is not something you'd expect from businesses.

This may ironically cause kids to get into more dangerous sites just to try to stop the spyware their parents installed to protect them.
