The "WB" logo
also
is
a
meme,
even
though
it
is
only
two
letters
inside
the
outline
of
a
shield.
Of
course,
WB
employs
an
army
of
lawyers
who
use
trademark
and
copyright
law
to
zealously
protect
its
intellectual
property,
including
its
logo.
Yeah but... You know the record, movie, game, and TV makers will have a field day passing out Cease and Desist letters like Halloween candy at the business ends of lolsuits on a day like that. It'd be like an unofficial Christmas to them even if they don't celebrate Christmas!
MPAA, RIAA, EA, Sony and all DRM users and makers demand congress to declare a "Piracy Day" where everybody on Earth must pay $1,000 in order to live or face a gabillionzillion dollar fine and eternity in prison.
Whether you use their products or not is immaterial. By God EVERYBODY steals! Everybody is a pirate and must be punished with extreme prejudice! Them dirty Hobbits are stealing our preciousss!!!!
The bill is expected to pass with 100% support and be signed into law since these groups were "nice" enough to pay for their run for office.
To me, the interview with Thorsten Heins seems more like:
BAAAWWWW! Our tablet is going nowhere! Nobody is buying our tablet! Oh noes! That means the whole tablet market will die! I'm going to take my ball and go home! Whaahhh! *sniff*
Considering the Blackberry Storm died off when Apple crushed them, this revelation of his seems more like wishful thinking from a defeated person than anything else.
Since Blackberry and RIM enjoy being the Slowpokes of both the smartphone and now tablet market, I'm pretty sure their eventual extinction will be met with both no surprise and no fucks given.
Problem is: How can anybody have privacy when both the Government AND private citizens have cameras? Cell phones have cameras. Soon glasses. PCs/Macs have cameras. Tablets have cameras...
I'm just asking how can privacy and protection be not mutually exclusive in today's day and age? I certainly don't know how and definitely don't like the idea of anybody, government or citizen, being able to invade my privacy.
Frankly though, why bother with CCTV when most people have cell phones with cameras? Instead of a governmental body being Big Brother, the citizens of the society do the monitoring for them?
Easier said than done. People get sucked in thinking that their remake or sequel will be different and they won't completely foobar it...
Surprise. Surprise. They do manage to fuck up the foobar in epic ways.
It's like an abusive husband (EA) and the abused wife (the consumer). People think EA will stop, but they won't till they get a major slap to the forehead with a nail spiked 2 x 4 (massive loss of sales). Until that happens, EA has no incentive to stop because people naively think the next game won't be the inevitable fucked up mess and money grab ass that it is.
So lets get this straight EA: The fact customers don't want microtransactions in single player games and actually want offline, single player games is immaterial because other FTP games are successful, never mind the fact those FTP games are MMOs?
How in the name of [Insert deity you worship here or leave blank if you don't] has EA games not only survived this long with this level of incompetence AND beat Zynga for worst company?
What part of the First Amendment doesn't Diane Feinstein understand? The courts have (rightly) ruled that video games are a constitutionally protected art form. The government has no more right to censor video games than they do books, plays, movies, or any other type of media.
Unfortunately, that is the same argument the NRA uses when it comes to any form of gun control.
However the difference between the NRA Moonbats and Video Games is that when you kill somebody in a video game, they respawn. Guns in real life don't have that option.
Nevermind who Windows is "good for", let's look at what Windows has going for it:
1 - A ton of users familiar with its desktop UI
2 - The mother-load of desktop software
3 - A ton of games compiled for native x86/x64
4 - Office
With Windows RT Microsoft basically said "Screw #1. Screw #2. Screw #3." That leaves a tablet for.. people who want to use Office on.. a tablet? Oh and they also added Metro. Except that the market for portable devices is already full of app platforms that are far more established.
Why would you buy a Windows RT tablet? Beats me. Clearly someone thought they could toss their core value propositions but win in the app space because... because something?
...with Windows 8. They took the clusterfuck of a phone UI and tried to pass it off as their "latest" OS.
How well has it worked for them so far? How about it hasn't.
So in all honesty, who isn't surprised that the Surface and Surface Pro aren't selling well?
I soo bad want to troll that place. That museum is a living testimony as to what happens when a kid fails science and replaces it with misinterpretations.
This alleged challenge is nothing more than a troll by some fanatic who refuses to accept real science over a book written hundreds of years ago.
Here is what will happen if somebody is foolhardy enough to take the challenge:
1) All the judges from the "list of possible candidates" are NOT neutral at all, but rather all as fanatical as the challenger.
2) Despite evidence that would convince even God himself, the ruling will 100% go against the person presenting the actual science.
3) For every scientific proof made, the Creationist will make up a new fact to counter-act the proof despite it being 100% BS.
4) Even IF somebody won this rigged contest, it STILL won't shut this guy up and he'll STILL push this psudo-science.
TL;DR: This contest is rigged and is a blatant troll of the highest degree. Trying to convince these fanatics is a waste of time and brain cells.
The only connection people already know between Windows and Blue is the Blue Screen of Death. In fact, it took me a minute to realize this wasn't about 9364 screenshots of BSODs.

in other news Dr. Kevorkian to head Department of Health and Human Services
The real news of that headline would be the fact Dr. Kevorkian managed to come back from the dead.

You chose.

Already the Al-Qaeda is getting blame before any real facts are being produced to support such a claim.
Typical US thinking: Blame first. Do something against the target of said blame later and completely ignore the real causes and facts.
...is never coming to where I live. Thank you Teleco Monopoly!
Monopolies: Raping consumers and destroying choices since before the internet!
'nuff said.

...they will rewrite the ending of Blake's 7 in the remake. I won't spoil it, but the original series ending blew major goats.
Best solution is to hit it's weak spot for massive damage.
...Different day.

...that the amount of radiation and heat black holes would create would burn the person up long before they ever got anywhere near the event horizon.
Assuming that they even survived that, the gravity pull alone would crush them like a grape a long distance away from the event horizon.

After the trolling of this horrible place.
I soo bad want to troll that place. That museum is a living testimony as to what happens when a kid fails science and replaces it with misinterpretations.
OH HO HO! You almost had me, Slashdot... you would have succeeded, until I realized that nobody on Slashdot has a girlfriend!
Speak for yourself.
I'm actually planning a trip with several friends to visit that horrible place and troll the fuck out of those fools. It's going to be hilarious.
Can I join you? I'll bring my church youth group so I can delight in watching the hope drain from their eyes!

Somebody ought to point James Randi to this challenge. Be the easiest $10k he ever made!
They have taken the FUN out of movie making, and also, movie watching
To which the MPAA will blame online piracy for.

Probably can make a mosaic with all those.
You know why XBox is so big?.
One word: HALO.
