WHAT! An advertising company acting in self interest by tracking?! Impossible! This guy forgot to take his pill. Now everyone, take their pills.
All joking aside, I wonder if privacy is dead now. Please say it isn't I don't want to have to browse every site through 7 proxies. Please reply for good ideas on keeping privacy. I don't even want to touch G+ or FB anymore... I don't want them to have more info on me.
As long as hollywood/Riaa/Mpaa and their puppets are at the reigns, it will be this way. I am still proud to live in this country but we need to clean up this system somehow. America 2.0
Revealing my age. I will say that I was taught that "No child left behind" was terrible during my Senior year of HS. But FTA
Yes, that's right. Test scores have increased since NCLB passed in 2002. Reading scores also are up slightly, and girls achieved parity with boys in mathematics. This is a monumental victory.
I guess holding someone accountable for what they do, DOES make them work harder.
Be wary of education lobbyists who downplay our long track record of scientific success while simultaneously asking for more money. At $91,700 per pupil from kindergarten through twelfth grade, the U.S. is outspent only by Switzerland in the education arena. Cash is not a problem.
If we are to fix the science education "problem" — to the extent that there even is a problem — the current data support adding science to NCLB. Instead, the Obama administration is issuing waivers.
Our point is not to defend NCLB or any particular policy. But, right now, this much is clear: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I should point how that my teachers were the people who taught me that NCLB was terrible. I wonder why.
He IS being accurate. He is pointing out that hiding the content of legislation isn't a GOP problem, it's a Politician problem, as evidenced by the all the BS that has been going on like sopa and pipa
Really? Some versions were upwards of 2000 pages long. That's like reading war and peace 4 times over... every time there was a revision. Did you get the Doctor Seuss version?
Maybe there was a summary that you read? In which case I will advise that you RTFA before you vote!
Please provide the context that you are referring to. If such context cannot be provided please accept that most politicians are in it for NUMERO UNO (that's Spanish for number one). Seriously anyone who spends more than a million dollars campaigning for a job that wont give an ROI then you know they have to be making the difference from somewhere else. That difference comes from our Ass. In this case it comes from health bills that i'm not really sure were ever intended to help provide health care.
We need health care reform... I don't think it's been done properly yet.
Any president would do this, regardless of party, for the same reasons Obama is: People want it, it's entirely reasonable, it's politically inoffensive, and both parties support it.
While I agree with money being the best way to reward someone at work (for why else would they work). I know that if I were to come into a large sum of money, I would continue to work. Maybe just at a different place.. but maybe not... I feel like I make a difference where I'm at. I would certainly fund open source projects.
Perhaps this nonprofit venture is a better method for online education than Udacity,
Perhaps someone from Harvard or MIT, wrote and submitted this summary/article. Perhaps this is just a way for some universities to rake in more cash to misappropriate later while offering certificates that are not even worth the paper they're printed on.
Or perhaps this is going to be a really cool thing. We shall see, until then I'm cautiously optimistic. Seriously, Udacity FTW.
I humbly agree. This was not an over reaction. This was the right amount of action. Not everything is a government conspiracy trying to take away our rights and rape us to death... Most things they do are... Just not everything and definitely not this.
It's funny how all Doctors/Lawyers/"OMG I"M CETIFIEdEd PROFESSIONAL"s seem to post as Anonymous cowards. BTW you think a real doctor would show a "nurse" professional courtesy, instead of using the term disparagingly. It leads me to believe that most ACs are just twelve year old trolls.
If there wasn't a threat why were crews brought in, why were they not letting people off the plane? Ask yourself these kind of things before ever posting again. Be sure to log in first.
Humbly I modify a quote from the parent. "There is nothing worse than an Anonymous Coward with initiative and time." Love - AtomicAdam
I had not heard about boundless before. Thanks to this litigation, I can now sign up. This is fantastic.
But seriously, a math book has questions that the teacher assigns. That is the only reason I paid $280 for my used Calc book. I use the web to actually learn the stuff.
Too bad this was posted AC because it's gold. Honestly, I feel a lot of the facebook gamers, were never gamers to begin with. They are the clients that are being pulled in by this new market. I doubt that a hardcore gamer would feel more satisfied from an hour of farm-ville than from a few hours of Startcraft, SWTOR, or [insert FPS Here].
I saw designs on Limor fried's Site years ago that she made for her thesis I believe. It's a good read. Either way it's funny how long these things took to become popular

He actually was robbed from us not because of Homophobia but rather of suicide. Maybe we should focus on teaching young minds to be proud of who they are.. and that suicide is never the answer.
In answer to his persecution, I don't think a pardon is necessary, if we hide the horrible thing that really happened, what are we saying about ourselves. What are we setting the future up for. I think what the government has thus said is adequate, now as world citizens lets ensure that it never happens again to our co-workers, nor to our friends or family. To stand up in defense of the down trodden.
I am against the pardon of that which happened in the past, let us pardon that which is happening now so we can avoid this dreadful cycle.
Strange, I usually think that geeks and techies are the first ones to get trends... Considering I had my "facebook phase" for a year or so.. Now i realize it's just like everything else. It's come and gone, it's the stinky potato of yesteryear. This IPO is them just riding out the wave for a few more years.... Social Media is doomed to be a very short bubble. Now.. slashdot... that's real communication.
We can't really shit about what happened here... I doubt more than 50 percent (myself included) understand their religion or the culture of the society/religion. The Article didn't talk about the mob getting in trouble so obviously this happens a lot, or has happened, or has been known to possibly happen. He knew the consequences and I almost think he was hoping this would happen. It's not really news IMHO. The only reason it made news is because it's facebook related and we all know what gets posted on your facebook will directly fall back on you to employers/community. Feel free to comment if you feel otherwise.
As someone who hopes that the fragmented android market can compete with apple's patent war...
We'll take this victory.. a sour victory... but we'll take it.
Besides, I like other formats besides mp4.

I humbly submit that this is a cycle that we will have to deal with for a long time.

FTS: Bill Gates was surprisingly down on tablets in education — considering that Microsoft just released Surface.
This sentence is fail. The surface has a keyboard....
I hate to say it though. I agree with Gates. surprise

Sounds like a disaster in the making.

I guess I just find your goals very childish.

The US used to have the moral high ground to protest these sort of things. What a difference a decade makes.
Right, ok FTA Article he was deported from Malaysia. How dare the US allow this thing to happen, /sarcasm
too bad Google just spent all that money on plain ol' fiber.

I would pay 20-30 more to ensure that nobody died in the process. Iphones are the new blood Diamonds.
