7 is at least two orders of magnitude better than the 9x series, and one above 2k and early XP... I'll agree.
But I've still seen it bluescreen. Or redscreen. Sure it may be bad drivers, but the fact they can *still* cause problems is not a good thing.
I keep win 7 around for games but for anything else I get frustrated at the lack of tools and useful software available at the click of a button, something I've got used to with Linux.
Seriously? Windows 7 has only crashed ONCE on anything I put it on, right after I rebooted attempting to put the DirecTV viewing software on it. (Badly written garbage). Everything else has simply run forever.
On Ubuntu, however, I can't tell you how many times it updated, rebooted and then wouldn't even get into the graphical environment. Or sometimes wouldn't start at all. Or Samba quit working for no reason. I don't have all day to fix my Linux server. But with Windows 2008 R2, I have NEVER had a problem in years and I have Automatic Updates on.
So, you're saying that Microsoft was NOT convicted as a monopolist for including THEIR browser on THEIR OS for free, even though they DID allow Netscape to be installed also?
Easy, we are tired of our add-ons being disabled with every new "major" release even though they work just fine, thanks. Also, FF is so needy with all it's "update me, update me" nonsense. Leave me alone and let me do something other than attend to you.
I switched to Chrome with NotScript and haven't looked back.
What many people see is the craziness people get over one degree (or even a half), when we see things all around that suggest far more drastic changes:
The "Fertile Crescent", which went from Iraq through Israel/Palestine to Egypt and Ethiopia, is now desert. All of it. There was no significant raise in generation of carbon.
There are mammoths in Russia that are flash-frozen with jungle foods in their bellies. Nobody's SUV caused that.
The fact is that we live on a planet which undergoes constant changes, some of which we can control and some we can't. The disagreements are that some don't believe we are warming significantly (compared to obviously-worse past events) and don't agree that the human cause is a significant percentage of the problem. Many people also believe that simply planting more trees takes care of the carbon problem, or that increased carbon dioxide actually CAUSES more trees to grow naturally, self-correcting the problem.
Spending billions to address 1% of the problem would obviously be a huge mistake, and that's what people object to. Likewise, doing nothing about something that could cause major catastrophes is a huge mistake as well. This is why people are so emotional on both sides.
Unfortunately, like most things in life, most people are massive fanbois to the side they have chosen and refuse to consider the arguments and evidence for both sides, instead calling the other side names and trying to shame them and invalidate their arguments with ad hominem attacks.
The reason XP/Vista/7 32-bit is limited to 4GB is because there are so many badly-written drivers that assume they will be in a physical 4GB address space, that there was no way for Windows to change it without massive bluescreens from old drivers.
The mobile version of Firefox is by far the least usable browser on my Android tablet. I prefer the built-in browser and even Dolphin to FF, which makes it impossible to go to Home, Favorites or anywhere else except by clicking a link. It's minimalism gone mad.
Genesis 6:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years."
C# is not a clone of Java. It takes the best parts of C (syntax), Java (objects) and Delphi (framework) and merges them together into one language very well.
Going for the reward in heaven I see...
Stable?

Windows 7 is solid? Can someone explain to me why my GDI apps are like eight times slower than under Windows XP on the exact same hardware?
D:
You used the Windows driver instead of the NVidia/ATI one?
They didn't use the last system on 9/11, which was the largest emergency in most of our lives, so who cares?

I had a Windows phone that did the same thing. I finally threw it against the wall and got something else.
If he were smart, he'd start marketing it in South America and Asia, where they don't have as much red tape.
Touch was so unbelievably big in the old days that I wrote my own version in Turbo Pascal for 14KB.
Reading or writing a file was hundreds of lines. Now, in C#, it's one.
To my second-hand knowledge, GBA is very similar to all Nintendo platforms, including Wii and DS. DS as a portable can do a whole lot of stuff.
It's even more than that.

Except that it won't. They are trying to declare bankruptcy to avoid paying anything to anyone.
+1. MSE is great and uses almost no resources. It's invisible and the highest-rated.
but if I did they clearly haven't harmed me yet.
It's like I always say. Given a choice of Norton and the virus, give me the virus. At least it uses less resources...
Sony Ericcson... I used to halfway hate that company...
I would rather it be RIP IE. We can dream...
Incorrect. Windows Server 2003 32-bit goes up to 64 GB. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa366778(v=vs.85).aspx

To use up to 64 GB, apps and drivers have to be written to access all memory through a 2GB sliding Physical Address Extension window.
How nice for you. Your religion has 1 follower. The other has over 2,000,000,000...

One is widescreen (Samsung), the other is not (Apple). It's really not that hard.
