(closer to a 2 watt difference for a 60 watt bulb versus the 47 watts as implied on the packaging).
What are you talking about? The power savings for the same lumens are legit. I spent $150 about 8 years ago changing to CFLs and I saved the money back in power in 5 months... At 2 watts, that would have taken 8 years...
I was looking at solar panels and they were going to save me $50/month. It seemed like a lot of work for almost no benefit. I have a chandelier with 8 40-watt bulbs (320W) so I got a dimmer with a 15-minute timeout. That move alone saved me $50/month, so I canceled the solar panels. Incandescent light bulbs use a lot more energy than people think.
As long as you are using less than your neighbors, you will save money.
No. Because years ago Google switched from "What you know" to "Who you know". You can have the most unique content on earth and be the only place that does, but if you don't have a few level-4 or higher sites linking to you, Google won't even scan your site beyond the home page. What used to be objective will now forever be political in one way or another. So Google will never get back to what they were in the early days unless they switch back, which almost certainly won't happen.
BTW, in Russia, I prayed for a boy that was deaf from birth and after that he was able to hear. I'd say that that amounts to doing something. Something the doctors couldn't do...
My Youth Pastor loved Mega Man (the original NES version) and would routinely do about half the glitches you see in the TAS. He used to solve the game in like 12 minutes with all the cheats.
The point of the article (since I read it) is that you should limit attempts per second. They recommend 10,000/second, but when I code I recommend one. Why would anybody need to login to the same username more than once per second? If the point is stopping automated login hacking, it accomplishes the job.
Yeah, I was wondering whether the GP was serious or trying to be funny. It's really hard to tell, because anyone that understands what salt is for will instantly see the humor in the suggestion. But since most people are cargo cult-ers when it comes to salt, I really could see someone thinking they were being extra clever.
I think he means that he works for a Christian in a secular job. At my last job, I was targeted and disliked for being a Christian. So it goes both ways, I assure you.
Agree except for this point: The Christian Church has shown itself far more effective and efficient at helping mankind than any government. To say it is equally inept is to rewrite history.
Yes, this would have been a whole lot easier if IPv4 addresses like: 76.33.45.121 became 0::76:33:45:121, for instance. Then everyone could easily do IPv6 passthrough. What were these people thinking that created IPv6?
also going to disable the phones of guards and visitors, possibly also creating interference with emergency communications for said guards
Get them police radios that only work on a single, unjammed frequency.
likely to create interference with legitimate users outside the prisons (many of these are in populated areas)
Almost all (if not all) prisons in California are separated from the public by a wide enough gap as to make this a non-issue.
in nobody's interest because it sets a precedent allowing the government to start jamming cellular signals in other "essential" areas as well... and watch how quickly those might multiply.
Possibly. But since people are ordering murder hits from prison, I am in favor anyway.
Exactly. I don't have the quote, but the Nintendo president stated as much in regards to emulators. He basically said, "If they are playing the original Super Mario Bros, then they won't buy any new games." Actually, my kids and I play Super Mario DS, Super Mario Wii, etc., because WE LIKE SUPER MARIO BROS, including the originals.

Do you work? Do you shop? I find it hard to believe that you are never around fluorescent bulbs. Sounds psychosomatic to me...
Cool, just have to switch to 150W bulbs...

Apparently you're not familiar with the FDA.

Now, note that these are failed logins only. Successful logins do not get timed, in case you were wondering about B2B web services or something.

Get an exception or lobby hard for a new law.

Not only this, but it's not like desktop applications can't call web services or something. Just set up your desktop apps to call web services.
If the mobile internet has taught us anything, it's that we should be trying to cram everything into the browser, especially where it doesn't belong.
OK, that was really funny.
U2 Lead Singer Bono deserves it 10X more than Obama. And that's just another celebrity off the top of my head.
If it causes people to switch to other providers because AT&T is too expensive, then it was a success.

It's Australia Day you insensitive clod!
So EPOCH day 15000 was marked with a trip to the beach, beer and a barbie.
You went to the beach with a tall, plastic blonde?
