Wow, so much wrong in one post.

First, Back to the Future has always been rated PG. Second, despite what commonly occurs with regards to ratings, over 1/3 of the top grossing movies of all time are rated G or PG, and well over 2/3 are targeted at families. Toy Story 3 made almost half a billion dollars and is universally considered a great movie, far better than Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Heck, every Pixar movie is more creative and almost all Pixar movies are better executed.

Rating systems, while not perfect are a very useful tool for parents to set DVRs and decide on family entertainment. Comic ratings are far better than a simple stamp, as they allow parents and authors both what they want.

The fact that one hacker didn't realize that such a hack was available means that it was not "just out there". (I can't believe I'm defending AT&T, those scumbags.)

Or, in other words, 3/4 of the time there is a good degree of probability that the Amber Alert system is being used as a pawn in a custody dispute. I heard one situation where a scornful ex-wife asked the ex-husband to do her a favor by watching the kids and then reported him to Amber Alert, had him arrested and jailed awaiting trial, showing the officers the court order that he had taken them during "her time".

    From the article:

Their successes were generally in child custody fights that didn't pose a risk to the child. And in those rare instances where kidnappers did intend to rape or kill the child, Amber Alerts usually failed to save lives...."If a mom is told by a court she can't see her kid, doesn't trust her husband, and abducts the child, it's stretching reason to say we need an Amber Alert to save the kid's life," Griffin argues. He cites studies showing that, even before Amber Alert's existence, 70 percent of parental abduction cases were resolved in less than a week.

And above all, it causes them to treat everyone around them with dignity and respect and how they themselves would want to be treated. Poor, depraved fools.
