You sir, take evolution on faith. The theory of evolution has not been proven. Issac Newton was a man of faith and still discovered and did more for science than any modern day scientist. You can doubt all you want, but scientific people can be religious and still have a fascination of science.

Debian is really the best way to go. It is so well maintained, I've been using it since Potato and am hooked for life. I have the kids computer set up with Ubuntu and it seems to work alright for them but if you ask me Debian is the way to go.

Are you really so ignorant? Well yes you are in one way, you made a moronic and hateful post like you did yet you were smart enough not to log in so the whole world could see who you are. I think slashdot should do away with all anonymous posting to keep the true trolls out of here and let the back wood ass rednecks show who they really are. Personally I find what you said sick and offensive, maybe you should go post on kluklux.com or wherever the hell people like you spout off at the mouth.

I learned the bash shell and some korn shell many years ago. Then I discovered perl and how powerful and really helpful it is in sys administration. Most things can be done with perl, especially text editing. I believe perl makes sed and awk obsolete. No offense to any one that uses sed and awk they are both powerful but not as versatile as perl.

Face it, windows sucks and Mac is a step up from windows. Why does everyone have a hard time understanding that? Your windows is not secure, just a mere speedbump in the road. Run a real os like Debian or some other version of Linux.

Debian, really it is the only true way to go when it comes to windows. Why waste money on Windows, time spent, rebooting, and just trying to figure out what in the hell is going on. ANY Linux distro blows Windows out of the water, so who cares what new stuff Windows tries to release to make themselves look good. The fact is Windows is bloat ware and make the world run very sloooooooooooow, and they are a pain in the a$$ along with a headache and eyesore.
