First of all, hwo did they get from 80-90% to 5-10x? Secondly, who the hell has 80-90% of their server space taken up by duplicate files? That's one of the most bizarre claims I have ever read. Is anything approaching 80% of the data on your servers duplicated?

Here in Australia we have similar problems with such things. Well, not only that, we have laws to prevent people hosting or transmitting pictures of nekkiditty.... but I still don't think we are in as bad a boat as USians (don't know about Canada - surely they like nudity in Quebec at least?).

I get quite suprised when I read say, a B-movie review site, where they get really excited about 1.5 seconds of breasts on screen.... jeez man, is it really that cool? Don't ever go down to the beach in a Scandanavian country you'll have a fucking embolism. I guess the old adage is true - the bigger the taboo, the more attractive it is.

[grin] I had forgotten about that one.

    The story I heard was....

One of Steve Jackson's employees was involved with LoD and got his fingers rapt by the Secret Service (not Jedger's boys, the original govt goons). The cops decided to checkout Mr LoD's office to see if any stolen AT&T files were present on the system. There weren't any, but while they were looking the cops found the entire text of Jackson's new "Cyberpunk GURPS" book and freaked out. They thought it was a manual for computer crime and confiscated the whole network!!

What a bunch of lamers! Can't tell the difference between a Role Playing Game and real life! And they say Geeks are out-of-touch with reality! Bah, I dereide their truth-handling abilities.

The new boss is an interesting move in light of all the recent rumours that Gateway management were getting very pissed off about delays and leaks from Amiga Inc (apparently we're not supposed to know who the OS developers are, but they had to reveal it because it was extensively leaked). Putting a new guy in charge with specific orders to "ship something - anything!" shows they aren't willing to drop the whole project at this stage. If they were really sick of it all they'd have disolved the company by now, I reckon.
