I completely agree with the gist of what you're saying: that it's stupid to think that just passing another law will solve the problem, but you err in saying they want to make it illegal to release the data. What the law is for is to require that those whose data were released must be notified that it happened. Mind you, that's not going to solve everything either, but it is different from what you suggest.
Touche.
Since Oskar Schindler saved thousands of Jews by employing them in his factories, the closest analogue would have to be the Slashdot editors, since they give all those grammar mistakes a place to stay.
Hmmm. What do you call a grammar Nazi who corrects another grammar Nazi? A grammar Rauschning? I was going to say a "grammar Bonhoeffer", but that didn't work, since Bonhoeffer was never a Nazi.
Anyway, "stopping to sell" doesn't work either. Its grammar is OK, but the meaning is changed.
It sounds like someone is traveling along, then stops for the purpose of selling. It sounds like what someone who speaks English as a second language might say.
Frankly, I don't see what is improper about "stopping selling". Can you point to a reference that shows why that construction is wrong?
I've learned about the tragedy of being stuck with $20 million in your bank account and not being able to access it without assistance from a dear kind sir like myself, whom you have the fortune of soliciting in the most urgent case.
Why the h*** was this modded Troll? If you disagree, post your opinion. Explain why this is wrong, if it is. The only thing I can imagine someone objecting to is the word inflammatory. That is my opinion, and nothing more. The fact is that the phrase could be misleading - not that the writer intended to mislead with it - and the phrase certainly could be accurately applied to the substances the parent mentioned. But Troll? Not even close. Some moderator, please correct.
I'm actually curious: have you tried reading those 9 year old DVDs recently to see if the data is still good? I want to know if I should be looking for another way to archive home videos. Plus, I wonder if DVD-R technology from 9 years ago is what it is today.
Interesting; the More Moore project is the name of a real project in Europe, but not having to do with 3D interconnects/chip stacking, but rather having to do with EUV (extreme ultraviolet) lithography to print smaller features.
But they're not just talking about FPGAs. It's not the article you want to kill, it might be the summary, which says that the whole idea is just an FPGA.
If you RTFA, you see that they're talking about adding a field-programmable unit into a traditional CPU, like IBM 750FX or AMD Athlon 64, to allow hardware bug repair - something they couldn't have done in the case of the Pentium III FP division bug, for example.
The tires are what need to have low rolling resistance. Take them off and drive on some 20" steel rims - that should be pretty low rolling resistance for ya.

I particularly like the new Speed Dial feature in Opera 9.20.

One would hope that, if you were a judge, that you would use the subjunctive tense when it is appropriate.

I'm sure it *can* cause seizures. Probably nausea too.
I meant in US History, as that's what the summary referred to. Terrible in any case.
Worst shooting spree of *any* kind. 31 dead, latest count. How he got away with it again, two hours later, is a question many will be asking.
Of course not, but all it takes is a very small percentage who do (and muck it up for the rest of us) and it pays off. Just like spam.

and it is about as rare as silver, i.e not all *that* rare - at least not nearly as rare as iridium. Why is it used? Because it can wet glass.
You seem to be trying to make a joke. Can I help?
Maybe trying to prove some point about a shortcoming of the moderation system. Wouldn't be the first time, would it?
Yep. I was looking for your comment, before I said the same thing.

Yeah, I have the memo right here. I just forgot. It's not a big deal because the report doesn't ship out until Tuesday anyway.
