As an European, we *don't* work so hard for an employer.
Except the UK which like everything else likes to mimic the US's worst habits including long hours, frozen wages and extreme pressure to keep climbing the ladder or be let go as a shirker.
Despite what some people will make you think, the UK has only agreed to take 20k Syrian refugees and has only taken the first tranche of those, a tiny fraction of what other European countries are taking. Compare that to a million on Germany or the immediate countries next to Syria who have taken on a third extra in terms of their total population.
Not really. This takes away the need for an Xbox if you already have a PC, especially given MS are now talking about Xbox hardware upgrades. All that will happen is anyone who wants a console for unique games or an easy life, will just buy a PS4.
Indeed. Not only is it not as bad as people point out, it actually introduced many firsts such as a title screen. It was also not responsible for Atari crashing. There were many other things going on, this was just a symptom of an overall problem. There is an absurd amount of disinformation around both this and the 'buried carts' story which just seem to get repeated ad-nauseam.
As such, if I come across anything illegal, I report it. If it's unsuitable for a work environment or a risk, I have a quiet word, Anything else, I ignore it, none of my business.
I don't know about anybody else, but I'd really like to hear a story that came with that set-up,
Parked in a McDonalds car park. Young couple in a car next to us wound down the window and lobbed out a load of leftovers, boxes, chips etc. Right next to a bin. Wife went over and threw it back in the window. Boyfriend gets out, yelling abuse and threatening. Wife refuses to back down. Guy returns to car, comes back with an axe. Wife refuses to back down (she's like that...). Guy then decides I'm a better target and starts on me. Wife shouts to me to go into shop and take our young son with me, which I do (unlike her, I don't have a death wish). Nutter stays outside, swears a bit more, then returns to car and drives off.
As an aside, I know more men who get beaten up/attacked on behalf of their wives who seem to enjoy kicking off, than I care to think about.
Apart from the fact you'll be on about 2 dozen cameras going in, I imagine most banks don't carry anywhere near as much cash these days as people don't use it much. I don't think I've had more than a tenner in my pocket in the last 20 years. Cards or wristbands pay for everything from a pint of milk to a new TV.
Much as I hate to say it, being anti gun, that argument does make some sort of sense. That said, I'm in my fifties now and I've never had a fight in my life and only ever been in any sort of mild peril once (guy came at me with an axe, long story) but I managed to dodge that by stepping into a shop. He stayed outside...
As a European, I continue to be utterly bemused/scared by America's obsession with owning guns. I know all the arguments that usually get trotted out, they just sound like crazy talk to me.
That and all the stories which are basically reporting of Twitter spats, endless "Ten reasons why we must x" listicles, aggressive moderation in 'Comment is free' (was free), Their odd obsession with petty aspects of feminism, Adele, rap and a raft of young writers and sub editors who seem to be writing for personal blogs rather than doing proper journalism.
any serious journalist publishes this sort of thing elsewhere like The Guardian
You do realise that by and large the Guardian is seen as a joke these days and is turning into a Buzzfeed clone? Apart from anything else, Duncan Campbell has a long and very respectable reputation for digging where few dare to go and has uncovered a hell of a lot of otherwise secret goings on over many decades.
I seriously doubt Cameron learned to code. He can barely do cohesive thought processes. There is no word I'm allowed to type that would get through this firewall that describes his complete and utter inability to do anything remotely good for the people he is supposed to serve and represent.
Indeed. The version of Star Raiders that we previously knew about was OK as a game but it didn't have the Star Raiders vibe. The video of this newly unearthed version looks very faithful to the original whilst adding a whole bunch of wow. Amazing it's only now turned up, given the importance of Star Raiders in gaming history.
I'm in the UK and I rarely hear engineer used to describe anyone that writes code. When I do, it's usually CEOs who have swallowed the jargon book from an American collegue.

Strictly speaking, in the UK, something like the top ten ISPs are required to block these sites. All the others will happily let you access them.
I believe Atari used a VAX to develop 2600 games with a cross assembler, then downloaded the code to dev 2600 carts.

Atari too had modular systems on the drawing board:

You don't need to start stories with "how..." or "why..." or worse still "ten reason why you must ..."
And rightly so. Having a beard and checked shirt will merely hasten the death by hipsterism in additional to the risk of a crazed AirBnB host.
They're professionals. The drives will be encrypted, right? Right?
Because cloud.

"a properly motivated terrorist group"
As opposed to what, a lazy one? Do they have motivational away days for the team to get them all fired up?

By which logic, you don;t need them any more, that one is over, you won.

It's true the Guardian broke and continued to cover Snowden in some detail but that's one of the few plus points in recent times.

Doh! The version of Star Raiders/Last Starfighter that we previously knew about...
