As I said before, then take it up with the government. They do not agree with your assessment, churches DO have not-for-profit status, and they do get tax breaks - even if you don't think they should.
All of it of course. The music industry read (some of) the writing on the wall and realized that eventually artists would not need to use hundred thousand dollar studios anymore. Once artists were able to record their own music inexpensively, what did they have left? Controlling promotion and distribution. If you want to be a commercial artist and sell music for a living, you will need to play the game to some extent.
And a distribution deal. And a radio promotion deal. And the money to send your album to hundreds of radio stations with your one sheet. Making good sounding music is easy these days, however getting it out for people to actually hear it and buy it is almost just as difficult as it ever was. The internet has changed this a little, but not as much as the recording of music has changed.
Well, you better take it up with the government, because they don't see it the way you do. They give tax breaks to churches regardless of the fact that they take in money.
Actually, the biggest difference in for-profit and not-for-profit is the latter don't pay taxes. If you put all of your income back into the business, it isn't considered a "profit". Paying salaries (even inflated ones) are part of business related expenses. I am not saying churches don't make any extra income, but most do enjoy the not-for-profit tax shelter - unless they do dumb things like officially endorse political candidates. Having a fancy church or a high paid priest does not automatically legally make you a for-profit business. I am only talking about legal terms here, not if churches actually take in vast sums of money. I think we are all well aware that some churches do.
Churches are not-for-profit organizations. Simply taking money does not make you a commercial business. Do you think that the churches bills just miraculously pay themselves? Churches take in money yes, but they are not supposed to make a profit. (They can only make a "prophet".)
I have no motivation to lie. I don't care what anonymous people on the internet think of me.
I have been tested many times for STDs and come up negative on everything every time.
The only time I ever had sex with a minor was when I was a minor myself. I have no interest in children in any way, shape or form.
I don't understand what is so hard to understand that if you don't have high risk sexual partners, and practice safe sex as a rule why it is so surprising that you don't end up with a STD. That is kind of the whole point.
If the "prize" is getting to experience different types of sex with multiple partners, I am already thoroughly enjoying it.
The funny thing is, no matter how many partners you have had yourself, anyone with more partners than you is a slut and anyone with fewer partners is a prude.
BTW, I have never had a STD in my life and I have had over 20 sexual partners. Just because you choose to have sex with a variety of different people doesn't mean you are not capable of making responsible decisions about who those people are. Which would be more dangerous - having sex with a couple high-risk behavior types, or many low risk ones?
Still fighting that uphill battle? See, nobody knows or cares about the proper use of the word "hacker" except a small percentage of the geek population. And that samll percentage is NEVER going to be able to convince the other 99.5% of the population what the true meaning is. The meaning has been changed, and it happened in the 1980s. Just accept it.
Oh, and also -
A desktop tower is also now called the "CPU" or "hard drive"
RAM capacity and hard drive storage capacity can now be used interchangeably
Internet Explorer and Firefox applications are now called "the internets"
Transferring any data over any medium is called "downloading"
Any mp3 player, regardless of the brand, is called an "iPod"
It is a safety thing. Pools need to be inspected to verify they have security fencing, etc. to ensure some boneheaded kid can't walk right up, fall in, and drown. When my parents built their pool, they had to get permits, have an inspection, so forth just like constructing anything else. Why would pools be exempt? The city they were living in required all pools to have a 6' high security fence, with gates that locked from the inside.
Oh wait, sorry that doesn't conform to your "liberal gang-rape" fantasies. I doubt that the facts will stop you from forming your opinions though.
I will skip right to "talking out of your butt". The FAA has no problem with ultra-light planes, gliders, etc. that are all small, private, flying craft. Why would a "flying car" be any different?
Again their "home user" tech support and "corporate" tech support are worlds apart. I have no doubt their home support sucks - thankfully I don't ever use it seeing all my Dell purchases have been for work. I don't think Dell is the greatest, it is just my real world experience is much different from some of the stories I have read. Of the 4 major computer manufacturers we do business with at my job, Dell by far has the best business tech support out of any of them.
If you think that home tech support and corporate tech support are both run from the same service center in India, you are sorely mistaken. I have called their tech support directly in Texas many times before. The reason we buy Dell is the average discount due to the volume we buy, is around $400 per system. Nothing dumb about that.
Seeing as Dell is so bad, who would you recommend?
Someone calls the Dell hardware tech support to find the nude pictures of herself she can't locate on her own computer and you are telling us we shouldn't be mocking her?
And for the record, I am not a Dell fanboy, but we buy almost exclusively Dell where I work and their business tech support is top notch. I talk to real live Americans every time I call, and they never hassle me about anything. Say what you want about their "home computer" tech support, but their corporate support is very good.
The funny thing is that a little appreciation can go a long way, and costs the company little or nothing. Secretaries get free lunches, flowers, cards, etc. so why not Sys Admins?
How could it ever be "too early" to start thinking about protecting out net neutrality? Support your assertions.
You don't like the government..I get it.. what you don't get is everything the government does is not necessarily evil. Without the government we wouldn't even have "the internet".

See my post below. Having high paid employees does not automatically revoke your not-for-profit legal status.

Please make a note of this for future reference.
When you start to hear the cheesy synth music, you know you are in trouble...

I work with several female sys admins at my university.
Please take your tinfoil hat off, or at least loosen it a bit.
Hardware tech support. Like when a component dies. It happens.
I work at a university with a faculty/staff of about 40,000. We probably buy as a whole 8,000 or so Dell systems a year.

Yet you seem to be having no trouble spelling it.

Are things really so bad, right now, that we want to hand regulatory powers over to either of these two?
No, let's wait until it is really bad and too late to do anything about it before we start thinking about the future.
I doubt it. The complaints usually start shortly after the marriage, once you realize what you have done.
Oops, last "iPod" should also read "iPad".
