    Funny part is you think anyone cares that Android had a few gestures first.. Android itself is a half baked copy o iOS with a dysfunctional app community. It is not like you cared when Android copied the webo notification system. That system was created by someone who once again works for Apple (he also worked there prior to his time at palm).

    There is nothing original in Android, climb down from that high horse before you hurt yourself.

    Why do people keep trying to make execuses for this stupid rule. It all started with CD players back in the 80s. These may or may not have caused some problems with older aircraft.

    If any current commercial aircraft can be influenced by any consumer electronic device, then we really do need to stop all air travel until this absurd oversight is correct. The rule is still in effect because none of our elected officials have the balls or the brains to make the FAA justify their absurd rules.

    I own a DX and an iPad2 with good reader. The iPad is millions of times better suited for reading and navigating PDFs. I love my DX, still use it all the time. This particular use case is no contest.

    They will notnlet you use a kindle... It is fact driven by the mistaken belief that all aircraft are in imminent danger of spontaneously falling from the sky if someone turns the page on their kindle. I have had this discussion with dozens of flight attendants, none of them ever indicated it has anything to do with attention and all have said they are told it is for the safety of the aircraft...

    Too bad our lawmakers are so spineless. That is a battle the FAA would lose. The TSA has done nothing to make us more secure. Every attempted airline incident has been stopped by passengers and/or air marshals. I am sure they would say you just don't here about all the good stuff they do. I say BS.

    Replay TV was announced and released at the same time as TiVo, was a better product and was ultimately sued into oblivion by content providers.

    TiVo was never really "successful" because their egos prevented them from making reasonable licensing deals with cable companies.. DirecTv is trying agai, but I am sure TiVo will find a way to screw it up.

    Kindle App was updated a couple weeks ago and continues to operate the way it alwyays did. Unless they had some exclusive content, these guys could not likely compete with Apple and Amazon. This seems to be there rel problem, the rest just looks like noise to cover / defend failure.

    I am a huge SciFi fan and went through that entire age range since their increption. Outside of a very occasional movie, the only thing I ever watched was an occasional movie and the Dune mini-series they did. One other mini-series too.

    I really stopped altogether when they changed the name.

    My kids do watch a few things on there still, but I sm pretty sure that is over with SGU.

I spent 10 of the past 12 months out of the US in 14 different countries on four different continents and have not seen anything remotely relevant to solving the problem of someone using a stolen credit card number or someone stealing a credit card number from a database. Sony is not even a US company....

    So tired of arrogant Europeans. I know your European because your a dips hit. Ohh look at me I am so worldly I made a trip that is almost as far as a drive from El Paso to Houston and went through 3 countries. Europeans are the truly ignorant of the world. They actually believe they are intelligent. That arrogance is what holds your entire monoculture continent back.

    Your iconia is an example of how things will improve (some anyway) Motorola and Samsun wanted to be first in their categories to drive the Android tablet space and were both were rushed out and underperformed.

    Think what you want about Apple, the iPad2 is a polished device with a fully developed ecosystem and support from every major mobile developer. People need to stop releasing turds or the market as a whole will just give up on Android in the tablet space.
