  1. Alright! on MS Four Points of Interoperability and Adobe · · Score: 1

    Go Adobe!
It's nice to see someone standing up to MS.
The worst that could happen is Adobe goes out of business. Hmm. Copyright lasts a while after the death of the creator(don't know how that works with the death of a company). So, if Adobe doesn't want MS's stinky paws on its format, they still win. MS can't touch it for a looooong time.
In which time, MS will get bored with PDF and steal someone else's format.

I love it when I get fake e-mails from people who pretend to need me to take their money for them. It's fun the play with their minds and make them think I believe them. It's also fun to e-mail them back a crazy mess to make it look like I'm insane.
I usually answer their questions about my name and address and the like, by making up things. Then, at the bottom of the e-mail, I sign it with "Elvis G. Presley".
I'm just waiting for someone to reply thinking that I really am the King.

Well, I know where I'm moving.
I'd do that around here, but the people don't even know what a kilobit is. The general knowledge is that dial-up is painfully slow(they have no idea why), DSL is faster(still no idea why), and Cable is the fastest(again clueless).
That's really the general knowledge. They've never even heard of T1, T2, or T3, because the only fiber we have around here is Metemucil.
No, I'm not going to say where I'm from. That would only embarrass me further.

I thought that too, but I have a 56k modem, and I've never gotten any connection above 21600bps. I usually only get a dl speed of 1kbs.
Like you said, dial-up sucks, but I have the same problem as the people with DSL.
It's also interesting to note that DSL and dial-up are the same price around here. Thats' right. There's only one dial-up provider and one DSL provider. Both charge 16 dollars for their service. So, I don't know what speed the DSL people "claim" to offer, but I would bet it's surely a little better than 21600bps. The only problem with that is, I live in a place where they don't even care about keeping up the lines they already have,(there have been 4 trees on them for 2 months now) so they're not ever going to put DSL lines in here.
So, yeah, dial-up can suck just as much as DSL percentage wise.

In which case, they can't fairly shut one down without doing the same thing to the other.
TPB and Google provide a service. What people do with that service should be the people's fault.

I think that's what MS is going for. It makes the consumer think that they had a whole lot of people working on Vista, so they don't complain as much about the gimongous price tag. Plus, if that is what happened, they can always say that at least they hired enough people. Finally, this gives the great Mr. Bill someone to blame when Vista crashes.

Forgive me. It was early, and I was mad. Windows had just crashed before my posting. Perhaps I should have attacked Windows instability instead. Oh, well. There's always next time, I suppose.
What I meant was that, MS wasn't backwards compatiblbe. Once they make a new Windows version, they expect everyone to just stop using the old one and buy it. And they're willing to do a lot to make that happen, like not being backwards compatible with their new software. For instance, they'll make themselves look really good by giving away a free anti-spyware program. But, you can only get it if you have a new version of Windows, so you have to shell out big bucks to get XP. And since XP loves system resources, unless you have a moderately fast computer, you've got to buy a new one or upgrade your's. You see where I'm going, right.
I guess I should have made that more clear, before. Sorry.

Personally, I hope this does happen. I have nothing against the MPEG people or the 360. All I'm saying is, MS should get their software right before they delve into the world of soldering. So, maybe a few lawsuits will get into MS's head that they don't own the world. They just own 90% of what they call software that runs it.
Please don't take this as an insult to the 360. I like the system, and I think it has some of the best graphics I've ever seen. Just take a moment to think this over, though. When MS created the 360, they didn't even have the courtisy to make it backward compatible out of the box. Remind you of anything? Windows, perhaps? So, if MS has to release all new 360's, what's to prevent them from doing the same thing to current owners of the system?
If MS doesn't stop burning bridges, they are going to get their tales scorched. Wake up people!

And, I for one, would prefer people wake up and switch to a real browser, like Firefox, Netscape, or even Opera(Never underestimate the little guys). MS must have a few screws loose to try something like this. I think Bill's money is going to his head. That or he knows just how much power MS has.
