Yes, this is complete and utter bullshit. I thought it was greasemonkey acting up, but then I disabled it and wham, still looks ugly like hell. Great, now my user control panel looks like the ugly-ass idle pages.
160.000 people were frisked and only 1.266 were found posses something they shouldn't*. That's a hit ratio of fewer than 1%.
According to Wikipedia, by the beginning of 2008, more than 1 in 100 Americans were incarcerated, so that's more than 1% "hit ratio" if you simply searched every American for illegal drugs, fake IDs or similar. Still a decent tradeoff?
*I don't see how a person carrying pot can bring down a plane, but apprently it's already possible with nail scissors, so who knows.
So that's got what to do with Gentoo exactly? And some obscure bug with a webpage noone really needs that uses a shitty layout really causing your browser to hang for a few seconds really doesn't make FF3 "the most unstable browser".
I was expecting this kind of response, and it would only seem fair...if I was the one making some out-of-the-blue claim that a certain piece of software is totally unstable on a platform I happen to use. I do not recall any outcry on the Gentoo forums regarding stability of FF3.
So really, it's not up to me to prove that FF3 works on Gentoo, it's the OP's task to show me that there actually IS a problem.
Oh really? I'm using FF3 on Gentoo x64 right now, I and haven't seen it crash in months. Hell, since a week or two ago I'm even running 3.1beta2, also without crashes so far.
So, anything more than personal anecdotes on your side?
Like I said, wake me when there's a product or a complete and final feature list.
Vista was reported on for years, and in the end most of the brand new spectacular features were missing from the release. So please, please just stop unless there actually is a product worth reporting on.
Please just stop following every step of "Windows 7" which will probably not be out for years, despite anything Microsoft says.
The only thing those reports generate is the hype Microsofts wants around their unreleased OS to keep up hope in people dissatisfied by Vista. Yeah, this time it's all going to be better...sure.
Windows 7 is not special and it's not worth reporting every tidbit unless there's actually a product or a set-in-stone feature list.
I've hardly ever read a comment that wrong on Slashdot.
The Internet is NOT "the worst of the three". On the Internet YOU decide what you want to watch and how you want to inform yourself. The Internet makes it very easy to confirm or debunk stories run by some outlet.
If you think that mainstream media is doing a better job with that, go ahead and watch TV and read your newspaper.
Quit rambling about your unfounded theories here....we all know damn well that no amount of tequila or diamonds could cause any girl to sleep with a Slashdot reader.
Thank god...at first I thought those values in those columns were percent. double-digits suicide rates would be sick...

Have fun drinking your meteor nectar, I'll still resort to tap water.
Way to miss the point, sheesh...
Major "woosh"
What according to who exactly? It might help if you actually quoted the section you're referring to.

ouch... :(
...as long as the world doesn't look like this.
Yeah, just like every Comic adaption sucks...right? right?
(*cough* Batman, Spiderman, Sin City, 300, ...)
and this post also gives me lead about what movies are missed ...
Is "lead" the heavier form of "wood"?
Err, maybe, I don't know. That would be a problem why?

Intel Nehalem, the "perfect CPU for your native american tribe."?
Don't read too much sense into it...
Well, only one way to find out. Grab your nuclear gear, we're going on vacation!

-Approved by the Office of Redundancy Redundant Department
That one usually goes "...the department of redundancy department."

Because someone might see the word "prostitute" and think I'm trying to make a funny analogy.
They're like a prostitute with no clients and a huge "won't anyone buy us" sign strapped to their heads...
Don't mod this funny, I'm dead serious.
yup, that one exactly :)
...the very special level of hell.

Duh, why do you think noone ever reads TFA?
