These data caps aren't getting blown by posting pictures from the road or Tweeting the set list. They're being blown by the rhythm guitarist watching Season 5 of Hawaii 5-0 and the bass player watching Netflix for 8 hours a day.
And what's up with touring musicians who are all of a sudden too good to do drugs and bang groupies? They gotta be on the Internet all day? Man, millennials have ruined everything.
I don't see Republicans actually supporting this idea.
That's OK, just get them on the record as being opposed to it. Build a case. Republicans in Congress currently have a 20% approval rating (28% among Republican voters and 12% among Democratic voters). In January, they had a 50% approval rating among Republican voters. Tomorrow, after they vote (again) on a health care bill that no Republican member of Congresshas even seen yet, I expect that rating will go down again if the bill doesn't pass and down even further if the bill passes.
This "Better Deal" from congressional Dems is just a way to put your knee on the back of your opponent when he's face down in the mud.
I think you don't understand what is meant by 'side'. Yes, there is one set of true facts to the complete story, but sometimes one SIDE will only present the partial facts that support their SIDE. You then need to listen to the other SIDE that will fill in the remaining gaps in the full story.
You have just made a compelling argument for a site like snopes.com.
Snopes is saying, "That's our domain"! That is their side of the story.
The other company could come right back and say, "You signed a contract stating XYZ, so we will not relinquish control of the site until XYZ is taken care of" or something to that effect. That is the OTHER side of the story, which we have not yet heard. This makes two sides.
Both of those sets of facts can be true, indicating that there really is one side to the story. Or, one party could be lying, in which case...yep...there is still only one side to the story.
The truth is, there are only "two sides" to a story if one of the sides wants you to believe some bullshit. It's like if my kid knocks over an expensive lamp and then tries to say the goldfish did it.
We only need sites like Snopes because one side in the political debate wants you to believe there is no such thing as truth or facts or reality. "Biggest inauguration crowd in history", or "biggest electoral victory ever", for example.
Students are flocking to CS majors because they're easier than Gender or Ethnic Studies and require less critical thought. Plus, the CS textbooks have the answers at the end.
there are billboards and other things in the world that can't be avoided, but they're not really wasting any of my time
Billboards and other things in the world may not waste your time, but they warp your worldview and control your mind.
Remember that famous Apple "Big Brother" advertisement? You may not have even seen it, but yes, you remember it. I'll bet you could tell me the slogans of twenty different companies and sing me the jingles of twenty more. You can identify the latest model Lexus from the logo alone.
The more you believe you are invulnerable to marketing, the more insidious its effect on you. We can try to minimize its effect on ourselves, but it still exerts its control.
I suspect this isn't at all related to millennials. Probably more of a people thing.
You're probably right. I have no time for advertisements. I pay extra for my media just to make sure I don't get any advertisements. I don't even like it when there is a promo for another movie or show at the beginning of the movie or show I want to watch.
There's no way to eliminate advertising and marketing generally from our lives. Anyone who tells you they have done it is lying, because marketing is ubiquitous. But I do not have to be an active participant.
Not having the patience for ads is not the same as having a short attention span. Maybe millennials are just a little more savvy than former generations and realize that all marketing is toxic horseshit.
This story actually makes me optimistic for future generations.
Why does CA think it can unilateral terminate a voluntary contract between an employee and employer?
Why you stupid ass. Have you ever heard of "contract law"? It's one of the biggest areas of the law. Probably half the laws on the books are what's legal in a contract and what's not.
Only because Heimdall was the "White God" in Norse Mythology (he was blonde and pale-skinned). It had nothing to do with racism. It had to do with the mythology of the character.
Nobody gives a shit that he is black because he is a well written character who just so happens to be black.
Actually, there was quite a bit of sturm und drang over Heimdall being black. The neo-nazis and "race realists" went apeshit over it and threatened to boycott. 4chan and Reddit forums blew up over a black guy playing Heimdall, and it didn't calm down until well after the movie was out.
Welcome to 2017.
And that's what I was objecting to.
Scientists say humans evolved over millions of years. Creationists say man was made 6000 years ago and woman was made from man's rib.
Does the truth lay somewhere in between?
The old saw about "two sides" is no longer operable when there the potential upside to lying is so great.
Of course you're right. But in this case, subjectively lower is better than the alternative.
Back in the day, I remember that punchline being, "the bass player". As in...
Did you hear about the drummer who locked his keys in his car?
It took him four hours to get the bass player out.
Do that from the stage.

Here's a thought: Get some sleep, practice your instruments and stay off the fucking internet.

There would be four sides to that story, no?

No, for most things, there are not "two sides of the story". Where did you get that stupid idea?

Here's a photo from yesterday's Pokemon Go Fest in Chicago. I don't see any Japanese people.

I'm very disappointed in this story. A flaming airship crashing into a crowd of 10,000 people is a disaster, not the failure to catch a rare pokemon.
To be honest, I was hoping for the former.

Russian language skills definitely a plus.
It's a comic book, Brent.
