I don't know about no airliner, but I saw the video of CeeLo's head getting blown clean off by a Samsung Note. Neither Vladimir Putin or Donald Trump have accounted for their whereabouts when that happened, so until someone says different, I'm assuming it was because he wouldn't sing "Shower Me With Your Love" at the inauguration.

At least now we can dispense with the notion that there has ever been anything like a "free market".

    Darwinian evolution at work.

And before you throw, "What are you liberal city-dwellers gonna do when there aren't any rural dumbfucks left to grow your food", you should realize that the industry that's being automated faster than any other is agriculture.

  11. Just don't read this guy's [twitter.com] explanation of how it was sourced from nonsense they fabricated based on this old TIL on Reddit

The whole, "it started on Reddit (or 4chan, or wherever)" has already been debunked. They guy who claimed to have started the rumor conveniently says he lost his original post with the story, "because he installed a new OS".

And anyway, the story has been out there for quite a while. The Wall Street Journal and the BBC have it from completely different sources. There were even efforts to get FISA warrants to look into the story.

Man up and accept that your Dear Leader likes chicks to piss on him. It's a stain that will not wash out of his presidency. The funny part is that is the least objectionable part of what was in the 35-page dossier that the British Intelligence agent prepared on Trump.

With a computer and a USB interface, you don't have to go through all that, thank god. My first recording system was an old Tascam 4-track and it was hell compared to what can be done today.

Technically yes if you are recording live to a cassette, because you just need a tape deck and a microphone. With CDs, you still need a computer, software to record the audio, etc.

Oh man. Buy a cheap USB interface for your computer. Get a copy (free, full version, not limited in any way) of Cockos Reaper. You'll never look back. For $50, you can get something that has a decent mic preamp and you'll be able to multitrack like Sgt Pepper.

Go to Guitar Center when they have a sale or look on Amazon. Then, you get a free account at Soundcloud and you'll be able to distribute your music without having to use any physical media at all.

Yes, it is. The Google Play Music app on my phone is an even better friend.

  24. Interesting.. I've never noticed the broken shuffle feature your described. I do listen to a lot of shuffled playlists.

The shuffle thing on Spotify has been a problem forever. If you look at the Spotify forums, you'll find dozens of threads of people complaining about it.

    https://community.spotify.com/...

I did like the genre searching better in Google Play. I preferred the interface and the way playlists were managed better on Spotify.

I agree on both counts. I'd been a Spotify subscriber since about the time they started their premium service. I just got irritated one day and thought I'd try an alternative. Since I had just bought a Google Project Fi phone, it came with 90 days of free Google Play music and I tried it and I've stuck for about six months now. Still keep that Spotify icon on my desktop though, in case I want to switch back.

  25. or you could just rip your CDs, store your files locally and pick exactly what you want to hear, and not pay anything.

Oh, I do that all the time, but I can find music on Google Play that is out of print and/or very rare.

If I want to hear Savoy R&B recordings from the late 40's, it would take me forever to purchase the CDs. Some of the more rare Blue Note recordings are also hard to find. I enjoy some of the Italian soundtracks from movies from the 70s, and good luck finding those anywhere any more except via streaming. Or maybe I want to find something I've never heard before, so I start the "Crying Country" radio station and discover some old Jimmy Wakely and Lefty Frizzell. With classical, I can check out multiple performances of the same piece to figure out which one I like best before plunking down my money.

Even better with new releases. My entire list of favorite new recordings from 2016 came from records that I might never have bought otherwise, like Nick Cave or the Suffers or the latest Radiohead.

I consume a LOT of music from different genres and eras. It's really not practical for me to have physical copies of everything I want to hear.

Here, for your listening pleasure, is an example of a song that I'm not sure can be purchased physically any more.
