Assume the CEO goes from $21M to $0 and redistribute among the 235,000 employees. Everyone gets less than $100 a year.

That's $21M that goes back into the economy instead of an offshore hedge fund.

The bottom line is that most of those 235,000 people could never run a company as large and complex as McDonalds.

But I bet you can find someone who can run that company for $500,000. Now, you've got $20.5million to redistribute to employees, and $20.5million that goes back into the economy to create other jobs instead of an offshore hedge fund.

That's the problem with CEO salaries: While there are formulas and charts explaining exactly how much you should pay a line worker at McDonalds (and it happens to be "just enough so that desperate people will apply"), there is no formula for figuring out how much you should pay a CEO. For all we know, you could get a competent CEO for a couple of hundred thousand a year and a company car. It'll look good on the resume and people like titles. No one really knows the true market value of a CEO. What you have is this unspoken "minimum wage for CEOs" that boards of directors are convinced they need to pay based on absolutely nothing. And the reason boards of directors have this unspoken rule is because many of them are CEOs of other companies or former CEOs or golfing buddies of everyone who will ever be considered for the job. It's all "scratch my back and I'll give you a big sloppy blowjob".

$7,017 is less than half the federal minimum wage. Clearly this "study" includes part time workers.

The federal minimum wage is $7.25/hr. I don't have my calculator handy, but I'm pretty sure $7.017 is not "less than half" of $7.25. I'm not that great at math, so I could be wrong. Clearly your understanding of what people actually get paid in this country is somewhat lacking.

I'm guessing that the $7.017 as a median for McDonalds has more to do with wage theft than being part-time workers, since part-time workers have the same minimum wage as full-time workers.

However there are notable exceptions to the minimum wage laws, and I'm guessing McDonalds makes full use of these exceptions. This is from the website of the Department of Labor. See if you can guess which loopholes McDonalds makes the most of:

"Various minimum wage exceptions apply under specific circumstances to workers with disabilities, full-time students, youth under age 20 in their first 90 consecutive calendar days of employment, tipped employees and student-learners."

If you want to talk inflation, it's probably being overestimated:

Are you kidding? CPI has always underestimated inflation. Do you know that when the Bureau of Labor Statistics computes the CPI (from which the inflation numbers come), they leave out the biggest sources of inflation? For example, housing prices, health care costs (but not insurance premiums) and education costs are conveniently left out of the CPI? If you were to add those to the basket, you'd end up with something closer to 7%. When you go to the grocery store and that $3.99 box of breakfast cereal that used to be 24 oz is now 14 oz, the CPI doesn't count that as a price increase.

Of course, if you don't buy a house, get sick, eat food, or send your kids to college, inflation is "only" 2.9%, but you'd still be losing ground.

As you will see, from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (run by the Trump administration), that the black unemployment numbers have been dropping steadily since the recession ended in early 2010. They fall steadily through the Obama administration and the slope of decline is unchanged. In fact, if you look at the numbers closely, you will see that the rate of improvement has slowed somewhat under Donald Trump.

And, if you were to go look at a chart of the wage growth, you will see that wages rose steadily under Obama and have fallen steadily under Trump.
