About the kid mentioned in the article that started the no cussing club
"It hasn’t all been smooth sailing. At first, McKay almost quit because of negative response. Sometimes people would yell bad words at him. Or they would accuse him of trying to take away their freedom of speech. McKay points out that he isn’t making them do anything. He asks them to challenge themselves to improve. “I’m just trying to bring awareness about people’s language.”
In the accompanying video it says he's gotten death threats. Some people need to chill out.
If taxes have to be raised, then raise the income taxes or property taxes. Sales taxes are a pain to collect...
Seems to me income taxes are WAY more complicated and full of loopholes than sales taxes are - at least for a brick and mortar. But on a national scale, with internet stores, sales tax becomes difficult. We are one nation - we need a national solution for sales tax.
Or, uh, maybe you could just distribute the solar cells on roof tops and not bother paving over Nevada?
The reason it doesn't happen more now is cost/efficiency. But solar is getting cheaper all the time and will certainly become much more widely used in the future.
Microsoft has done a very consistent job of managing the Zune. That management got it where it is today, and I see this revelation as being consistent with all the previous management decisions.
By the way. I'm not at all pleased with the new eBay design.
They think they're being all fancy, cute, and Web 2.0-like i'm sure.
Their new design looks MUCH better than the old. I always thought the (now old) eBay page design was ugly and difficult to use but it looks like they've made some great improvements. If they can get it to actually WORK, I think they'll really have something.
Yes, it is your fault. You are not the police. You are not God. Stop trying to control traffic with YOUR over-inflated sense of entitlement.
YOU are the single point of failure in these scenarios. You are outnumbered by the people wanting to go 69 (or whatever speed) in a 65.
It can be dangerous too (although pretty funny if taken to the extreme).
Neither major party candidate has mentioned addressing the crushing national debt or deficit spending. If I'm going to listen to platitudes, I want to hear about reducing spending and paying down the debt, not battles over who gets tax cuts.
Here's why:
Candidate: "I will cut all your favorite programs to eliminate the national debt." Voter: "Asshole."
OK, what is up with the tags today? This story was tagged "linux" three times at one point. What is going on? Other stories are tagged "story" twice. Is there a bug? Is someone protesting something?
Huh, I thought it was because the earth has a funny way of shifting around and things don't always stay buried for very long which could be problematic for pressurized gasses, but I guess it's because of anti-technology ecofascists.
It's being done, it's being studied, and so far the science indicates it is pretty safe.
Pressurized gasses - like natural gas - have existed underground for ages and we've managed to deal with them.
I recently read "A Wrinkle in Time" and it SUCKED. How did this book get any notoriety at all? Maybe it was good in 1962 Goodness but it FAILS today. Just my opinion.

The problem actually comes down to this :
The are 2 ways to regard spread of information
Either it should be possible to stop the spread of certain information , and that will put a stop to the abuses , but it will also make it possible for an authoritarian regime to silence any criticism , and will basically stop freedom of speech .
The other way is to make it impossible to stop information from spreading , and that way you wil ensure freedom of speech , and anonymity to whistle blowers and criticism , but at the same time , abuses will be unstoppable .
There is no midway to this , as it's about technical capabilities. Actually, I think the two ways of spreading information are:
1 ) Put spaces before all punctuation marks , or ,
2) Don't

My kitchen sometimes resembles a cloud when I allow my high powered processor to over-render my inputs.

Scientists must have discovered my daughters room.

And where it is today is right at 2% market share (fifth paragraph from the bottom).

They must not have had one of those "Your mother doesn't work here" signs on the fridge. Those always work.
Awesome idea! Now I'll create an app that scrapes the data off your web site and sell it on the Apple store and make a lot of money!
That's not change! That's more of the same!

Actually it's much worse. He's the anti-Christ. Please tell your friends and neighbors!
No, wrong, voice mail is more of a distraction than receiving text messages.
Evidence?

This whole "this old meme is getting tired" meme is getting tired.
"Magnifique!" ejaculated the Countess de Coude, beneath her breath. The Return Of Tarzan You gotta love a book that starts out like that.

Word format documents probably hold 80% of the world's knowledge.
Funny - 80% of all statistics are made up on the fly. What a coincidence! All comments (over 900) summarized below:

I would argue that arguing about the perfect argument that refutes the argumentation is arguably arguable.
