My thought as well. Seems like the OP goes something like this:
I want to set up a system where the user by default has no admin privilege, and that can be administrated remotely. Using a system designed for users with no admin privilege and designed to be administrated remotely is not an option.
Funny also how the same nerds that rip anybody who says "I'm a libertarian," to shreds here are so quick to turn around and shout about how "government interference in the labor market" is horrific and that the best thing that could happen!
About 2 million accounts registered on slashdot, and you're sure the dozens of nerds who commented here so far are the same nerds who comments about opposite issues?
If so, you're a moron. If not, you're a lying troll.
At one time I had my collie able to find the "red ball" among the blue, red, and yellow ones... Dogs are colorblind, BTW.
No, they are not colorblind. They can see colors, just not as well as we do. Dogs can see two different color 'bands', humans can see three, and certain crustaceans (the mantis shrimp) can see about 11-12 bands. Talk about humans being colorblind.:)
Early color movies only used two color bands, and they look surprisingly good.
Placing the large monitor higher up will give you a real crappy working position, pretty much the opposite of the most natural, which is to look slightly down on the screen. Do what everyone else told you, use a dock for the laptop and have a real keyboard and mouse.
Extremely high capacity in one package isn't that useful unless it's paired with a similar gain in transfer speed. It sucks in a RAID setting if the disk dies, because it will take days to resync. Maybe it's great for a home desktop user, but it would still be better for such users to go with more than one drive.
I tend to use my CPU to do the re-encoding myself, I find my hard drive (and the SATA protocol) just isn't Turing complete
This is yet another reason why the PC platform must die, and the Commodore 64 i still the only viable option for serious computing. It may not be the fastest computer available today, but at least its storage medium is turing complete (and actually slightly faster than the computer itself).
DO NOT follow parent's advice unless you're prepared to be dead wrong about who's doing this. This may work in open air, but in a residential building with a shitload of walls to reflect the signals from a multitude of access points, not so much.
Frankly we need to throw the whole damned thing out and start over, design something that low power devices like smartphones and tablets can use easily while at the same time having very tough to crack security. maybe placing a hardware crypto chip on the device?
Yeah, that was a great idea last time, until someone found a flaw in WEP and the chips weren't possible to upgrade and we had to live with virtually no security for 5 years.
The level of details are there because it was a vehicle used for review, and to review the car you have to agree to logging everything. Exactly for this reason, lying journalists with an agenda are more common than you may think.
You think most 'luxury' car drivers don't expect to drive more than 200 miles or turn the heater on when it's cold outside
What's this bullshit about turning on the heater? Do you think it's hot in Norway where they sell the most, per capita? Do you seriously think heating the air around the driver a few degrees draws more than a fraction of the energy than it takes to accelerate the mass of the whole car?
And no, I don't think that most 'luxury' car drivers expect to drive more than 200 miles in a day with their luxury car.
It's interesting how most, if not all, of the ad hominem attacks on Tesla Motors are done using anonymous accounts. I've read through half the comments for this article now, and some anonymous coward seems determined to throw dirt on Tesla and defend the journalist.
I was asked to clean some exploited servers in the wild that had compromised SSH binaries in them. This was about 10 years or so ago, so this is really a not current news story.
Someone got murdered about 10 years ago, so there's no point reporting about current murders.
And yes, however unbelievable that may seem to us - there are people out there who've managed to live through the last couple of decades without actually watching or having any interest in Star Wars.
I'm one of them. I've seen one and a half of the original movies (fell asleep during the other half), and maybe one of the new ones. I fail to see the fascination with it, it's pop garbage made for children. The only reason you like it is that you watched it as a child. Its only redeeming quality is that it sort of brought us the full potential of Harrison Ford.
And this is not necessarily a bad thing, since it creates an income for the country. Even if most of it disappears into the pockets of corrupt politicians, the situation for the general populace will probably improve over time because of it.

site not sight...
Also known as an Archimedean spiral, who probably also ripped it off from Disney.

Yeah, uhm, great, but how does this physically move the monitor?

Yeah, I often wish for a "-1, Factually incorrect" or something.

I stopped buying from WD because: 1. Advanced format -- who wants to deal with a drive that lies about its layout?
So you're not a fan of LBA then?
Yes, C is secure. You can however use C to write buggy software, for example a java virtual machine.
And the requirement for joining Mensa is that you belong to the top 2% of the population, rated by IQ. Coincidence? I think not!
Wait.. what, how is ethernet over the powerline more secure and have less issues than UTP?

Everywhere ^ is used in the puzzle it means that it matches anything not in the group. For example [^abc] would match any character except a, b and c
I pasted the URL to the PDF in gimp, solved the puzzle in a layer. Not really rocket surgery here.

Someone got murdered about 10 years ago, so there's no point reporting about current murders.
Or what is your point exactly?

Cool. Maybe you should contact the Guinness Book of World Records, because you're typing five times faster than the fastest typist in the world!
