the Vulcans. Like the inner eyelid Spock realizes he has in TOS: "Operation -- Annihilate!"
Meant to protect us in the days we had 2 suns before one went nova. I made that last part up.
your explanations are compelling, but since 95% of your comments are cut and pasted from your comments posted to TFA , it kinda makes you sound like youre on a PR mission. And that makes my tin foil hat vibrate.
Slashdot-style moderation (moderation as in "moderated") works well to appeal to reasoned debate. Those saying that Slashdot doesn't have reasoned debate have not been on the interwebs recently......
difference is the dems said "it ain't so", today all the GOP folks are afraid to say it, 'cuz Rush will beat them up and they're scared of him.
Seems to me they all just played into this, and are making true even it if wasnt originally.
no rationalizations or deflections on this one - I disagree with him.
But this is one of about, oh, thirteen gazillion things that are 180 degrees better now.
No need for rationalizations. I'm no longer embarrassed by my president.
I went through this with my father in law who is amazingly non computer savvy. I just installed LogMeIn on his system (free) and now whenever he has an issue, I can fix it from home. Has kept him up and running for a year now with only the occasional glitch.
oil = foreign oil, since we don't produce enough domestically, which of course you know, so I have to assume that you are just being argumentative.
Reducing overall consumption, would allow us to import less from foreign sources, or at least from the most unfriendly foreign sources.
So you have missed the point, or chosen not address the point in order to just nit pick this, and I fail to see how this is progressing any meaningful dialog at this point.
I will have to just admit that you are, undoubtedly, too cool for the room.
let me put it this way: are you willing to "sacrifice" to end our reliance on foreign oil, like maybe driving a little less or driving a smaller car, etc, something that would be beneficial on many levels, even if you were rich enough where it really wouldn't matter you individually?
I'm not arguing, sorry if thats what you expected.
And thats not what she said. a successful country means we need to cooperate with one another, rather than view each other as the enemy. I fail to see whats so controversial about that.
your proposing to remain uninvolved and uninformed? Hers was a call for personal responsibility. but certainly remaining uninvolved and uninformed is your right as an American. Seems to be more and more common these days, especially among the "low information voters" that make up the vast majority of the voting public.
Just a strange thing to take issue with, and despite the political differences here, one area where agreement seemed kind of a no-brainer.

The "Cone of Silence"!
I was going to bemoan my lack of mod points, but then I saw you posted this anonymously...

I can't tell you how many times I've said that exact thing!

Betcha they're mostly in democratic districts.....
Can't seem to locate the biography you mention - do you have a title for it?

Then, and I honestly mean no sarcasm, then I am sorry for you.
maybe if you quoted the part you disagreed with we would all know what your talking about, and we could have saved several posts.

you find that a problem? Holy cow, dude.
Bill Clinton's policies were fine, it was his life that was a mess :)
Even then he's not.
To Quote George Carlin on "saving the planet": "The planet is fine.... its the people that are fucked."
