The old saying stands true here... You get what you pay for. If you are going to only pay pennies on the dollar for Memory. Well you should expect a high number of failures.
If your system memory is mission critical, you probably are going to buy top-shelf rather than bargain-basement, aren't you?
Most of the Flat wire designs I have seen actually 'twist' the pairs within the design.
If you look at: http://www.decorp.com/product/data.htm (which was posted prior) showing another design you can actually see the pairs 'twisting' within the flat cable. Actually from the whitepapers I have read the noise on the line should be less with this type of design. I just wonder how practical it is for buisnesses to run in existing infratructure.
Essentially I believe that's true from everything I have read too. However I believe the big catch is *COST* production costs of Blu-ray are supposed to be significantly higher (requiring newer techniques and higher-end material). I honestly I think it's about the companies considering the cost/performance aspects vs. return. Whichever one they think they can charge a higher % over cost - is the ones that they will support.
Sure Blu-ray holds more data and is (supposedly) technically better... but I am sure the thinking with many companies is why do that when we don't _need_ the space why spend more money on the creation - when you can charge the same ammount for something that costs less - and will get you greater margins. I believe other companies see the performance of Blu-ray as a needed step - regardless of the increased costs associated.
Actually, I don't see Microsoft choosing sides mattering that much. It's the hardware manufacturers that are going to decide this one. Microsoft will provide drivers and support to whatever devices are dominant in the market. I fear it's really going to heat up into another Betamax type war.
However - I would not rule out future devices that would support both standards, if they both gain good marketshare.
Everyone today is worried about the 'Spectre of Spyware' - it's not just Flash Developers or any one group. Just about any network enabled software developed today suffers that problem. The real question is do you need to question the security of any/all software that you use/develop? And the quick answer is: Yes
Seems to me that this could be the begining of a Kit TV era. Kits that would include a broadcast flag 'chip' that could be mistakenly left out by the user.
At least that would be one way to skirt the system - albiet legal ramifications would likely exist with this model - I'm sure others will be fourthcomming.
If that's the case that definately not a minor glitch. I 2600lbs short is a MAJOR issue... you just aren't 2600lbs short of fuel I mean that's a whole lot of fuel to be short...
It is still unfathomable to me that Ringtones have become a multi-billion dollar industry... And most of them are bad MIDI recreations that cost as much (or more) than a song off of iTunes...
Considering the development workstations reportedly shipped by Microsoft are reportedly Apple G5's running a tweaked, slimmed down version of Windows XP - that doesn't sound so far fetched....
Have you checked into heat related issues?
The top 2 issues with that: Heat or Memory.

I believe the other VOIP company is named Nuvio rather than Nuvia.

Kernel junkies of the world unite! Your next fix has arrived!
Oh my lord... they found a better way to blot out the sun!
You could always jury-rig a 3-button trackpad for your powerbook... then slashdot it!
Maybe they can start vibrating out songs for these people... that way we will not have to all want to strangle them...
Sometimes I wish cell-jammers were legal in the U.S.

I'll stick to 'Vibrate' thanks.

I still don't think it will ever happen...
Yep... Military, with a 4 year degree. OCS would fit nicely. A great way to get a security clearance.
