If you don't want unauthorized people accessing your unsecured Wi-Fi network, then provide your customers with the access information on a receipt or something. If hotels can do it surely a coffee shop can figure it out.
However, Peterson won't be going to prison for piggybacking. Because he has no prior record, Peterson will have to pay a $400 fine, do 40 hours of community service and enroll in the county's diversion program.
I'm pretty sure there are legal means by which a person can enter the US. Countries have immigration laws for a reason. In a post 9/11 world you can pretty much count on there always being laws about who can live where in the US.
Like I said, I'm all for legal immigration. Enter the US legally, contribute to society via working, paying taxes, or whatever. That's fine. I'm not denying the huge impact the immigrant workforce has on the US economy at all. I'm also not saying that people should be denied opportunities to better themselves either.
Remember when that Cat Schwartz girl from TV posted a cropped photo that accidentally had her boobs in the embedded Photoshop thumbnail?
Link?
Seriously, this is a pretty common issue in my office (I may or may not work for Uncle Sam). I think most folks probably have "track changes" set to "on" by default and those of us who don't are greeted with all of the comments and track changes dialogue when we open up the attached MSWord file.
The potential is there to find out some pretty funny stuff about your coworkers when this happens.
It's the same where I work. We're not even authorized to purchase machines with Vista installed and the few that have slipped through the cracks have been wiped clean and had XP installed.
They're just commercials. What's the big deal? Just because I see something on the tube doesn't automatically mean I go out and buy it. Seriously, how could me not watching a commercial cost them money? Just because I don't watch it or buy their product doesn't me everyone will. Someone always buys the latest and greatest "bargain" from a TV add . . . right?
Where I live most teachers fresh out of college make a whopping $24-27K/year. So I'm not exactly sure what "private sector" you're referring to, but if I had to guess it'd be the manager of your local bowling alley.
Back to the article in question . . . our society has become way over-reactive about this type of thing. Last time I checked, teachers are human (most of them anyway) and have every right to dress up like a freakin' drunken pirate (is there anyother kind?) if they want. Heck, I'd encourage it. It might've made 8th grade English more interesting.
Sheesh people, chill out and let folks live their lives.
Wouldn't open for me either . . . I actually kept waiting for the site to come up blocked by freakin' websense. Who knew posting this on/. would just about kill their site.
I bought my daughter Diamond and she's been playing that thing non-stop since we picked it up on Sunday.
She's turned into a Pokemon nut . . . I'm sure she'd love to learn about trading characters, etc. online, can you recommend any good sites that explain the trading and stuff?
want to turn their connection into a free wireless hot-spot?
You pay for a 1-4 MB connection and have the potential to share it with 20-30 of your closest friends or what? Wouldn't be worth it in my opinion unless you're a business or something and just want to attract customers.
I haven't used a POP3/SMTP client in almost 3 years. Of course I've got like 5 gmail accounts so it'd be a pain to configure a POP3/SMTP client to check that many accounts. Or atleast it was the last time I did it and checked each account all at once.
I'd rather let Gmail deal with filtering the SPAM first and then deal with the stuff that slips through. That right there is enough for me to not bother with a client.
Maybe one of these days I'll return to a client . . .
Just imagine how screwed this guy would've been if he was an illegal immigrant and his name showed up on the "No Work" database.
Thanks for the info.
It sounds like someone could make a few bucks as an internet security diversion program consultant.

What the heck is a "diversion program"?
I wouldn't have a problem with it. The current situation is definitely not working.
Seriously?
A day or two maybe, but 40? That's freakin' harsh.

Low cost or free . . . which could also be translated as "low cost or bills not being paid". Nothing is ever really free. Someone has to pay for it.
Do we really need to open the debate about the strain illegal immigration puts on the US health care system?
Ummm no.
You enter this country illegally, pay little or no taxes, obtain low cost or free health care services you theoretically get put on some "list".
Personally, I don't mind immigration. However, I do have a problem with illegal immigration.

That's what we do best here in the US.
It's the same where I work. We're not even authorized to purchase machines with Vista installed and the few that have slipped through the cracks have been wiped clean and had XP installed.
I didn't think it was really over until someone bashed George Bush.
Is that about it?

I'd bet most stations have at least one request hour . . . the one I listen to does it during the lunch hour and I think during the "drive home".

Heh . . . I guess almost everyone could use a little male enhancement product every now and then.
Good points . . . thanks.
