Because then they sell your data and that only works if you happen to be logged in at the time, something that will probably become an issue if you use a laptop for instance.
If you're willing to put up with that crap then fine, but it's not a valid fix for DNS hijacking.
Excuse my while I go blow a bloodvessel. Every single time a story like this comes up some idiot suggests OpenDNS and idiot mods initially mod them up.
I'd link where this happened last time but for the life of me I can't figure out how to view more than my several dozen posts.

KDE 4.3 Released
·
· Score: 2, Informative
Semi related to this, people using Fedora (which is probably packages and integrates KDE the best of any distro I've tried) can get 4.3 by enabling the Redhat KDE testing repos from http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/
I just installed it about an hour ago and have been pretty impressed with the improvement from 4.2. In particular, the notifications are very improved and kopete is actually verging on usable again. General polish all around is certainly helping too.
A couple of rockets is piss compared to the millions of cars, factories, and volcanoes in the world. "Straw that breaks the camel's back" is just a strawman (pun not intended:/) argument used by ludites that have something against cool technologies for some reason.
Censorship Function: noun 1 a: the institution, system, or practice of censoring b: the actions or practices of censors ; especially : censorial control exercised repressively
Censor Function: transitive verb to examine in order to suppress or delete anything considered objectionable ; also : to suppress or delete as objectionable
Um, weren't the Aliens found on a planet being terraformed? Remember, shooting up the guaranteed a big bang and everybody loses, including the Company.
At the time of Alien the planet wasn't being terraformed. The events of Alien and Aliens were seperated by nearly 60 years, Ripley having been suspended in hypersleep between them.
And the beacon, wasn't that the terraformers asking for help, or warning off any rescuers? A distress beacon, I thought.
No, the distress beacon was coming from the crashed alien ship that was infected by xenomorphs.
So the freighter charges in to save the day, not being told of the Aliens, which the Company wanted to monetize. See how stupid that sounds? Sending in amateurs was a safe bet to get an Alien back. They didn't account for Ripley.
The freighter was sent in with the mission of investigating whatever the beacon was. The company possibly already knew about the beacon and what it meant though the official story on the Nostromo was that they were just investigating a mysterious distress beacon.
Not much help from the androld except at the end, being a company machine and all. He spent all his time entertaining the Marines and trying to get someone infected and on the way back to Earth, as if that was so hard to do.
The android from Alien (the science officer) was trying to get someone infected and returned to earth. However the android from Aliens (Bishop) wasn't, rather it was a company man (human) that was actively trying to get humans infected and back to earth.
I hope they never allow these things on public roads with blind drivers. Handicapped accesibility is good and all but we shouldn't risk handicapping more people for it. Seriously, the driving is dangerous enough with a bunch of idiots who can see just fine.
That whole "don't follow so close" thing works great, until you have a significant amount of merging going on. When merges occur drivers either need to slow down to maintain distance or start driving closer (or, oftentimes both...). It'd be nice if our roads actually allowed us to drive like that. Certainly in DC they don't, maybe other places arn't as bad.
Thankfully for disney they no longer make movies like that. Excepting even their "3d cgi pixar" style movies, almost all of the animation is done on/with computers.
Surely not. The blurb is a blurb of scientific content and as this is a site is "news for nerds" it's appropriate to use the scientific meaning in context. Transparency in this case should be well understood to be applicable for any wavelength, not just visible light. This is particularly true since there have been numerous articles in the past about "invisibility cloak" meta-materials that, in reality, only cloak objects in certain (nonvisible) wavelengths such as microwaves.
Also, I wasn't sure how to spell "colloquial" so I just copypasted it from your comment;)
If you're not using this, or something like it, then your Admin isn't doing their job.
Or you're not on a corporate network at the time and thus most likely don't have an Admin besides that little pamphlet that came in the linksys router box;)
Microsoft takes so long to produce patches because they figure if the general population doesn't know about it, then it can't be too pressing a problem and chose to ignore it until it is an issue. Then it takes them even longer because they supposedly do huge amounts of testing.
Chaos theory holds the honor of being one of the few modern games I've actually bothered to play through to completion in a looong time. Despite having a relatively holywood portrayal of technology it was quite fun and still somehow decently nerdy. Damn shame to hear their newer games suck so much.
1. All samples have to come from someplace else no matter where you are 2. Not disputed. 3. People in the surrounding area will be an even bigger issue outside of the mid-west. 4. That's more of a HR issue than anything else. My guess is it wouldn't be that big of an issue. How many super duper Level 5 trained people want to move out to some little island in the middle of the fucking Pacific ocean? 5. I never argued that.
Oh, and you were modded flamebait because you decided to include seemingly partisan political attacks in your post and the mod in question didn't think it was clever enough to be a proper troll.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT
STOP SUGGESTING OPENDNS, THEY DO THIS SHIT TOO.

Some of our clubs in the past have leveraged highly advanced theortical nuclear physics.
Now, personally I find this idea pretty impressive, club or not.
A couple of rockets is piss compared to the millions of cars, factories, and volcanoes in the world. "Straw that breaks the camel's back" is just a strawman (pun not intended :/) argument used by ludites that have something against cool technologies for some reason.
Half pound chunks that burn up on reentry aren't going to hurt anything.

http://mw1.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/censorship
What part of those definitions require that governments be involved again?
And no, just because it doesn't fit your needlessly restricted definition of censorship doesn't mean that it isn't censorship.

Well without car mechanics I'd be willing to say that after a while a good number of all of those guys wouldn't even be able to get into work!

How about you eat less meat if you want to, and I eat more meat if I want to, and you stop dictating what other people should do?
What people want to eat is nobody elses business.
This one seems to be filled out more correctly.
This form is amazing, always manages to be relevant.
I said no such thing, I was merely correcting the GP who assumed that disney movies are still handdrawn.

Wait, what? I hope that wasn't a freudian slip...

Maybe I'm missing something, but how is "O-dumb-a" a racial slur?
A childish insult for sure, but racist?
Or you're not on a corporate network at the time and thus most likely don't have an Admin besides that little pamphlet that came in the linksys router box ;)

See, this is where you fail. Colloquail definitions and scientific terms by no means always mix.
Chaos theory holds the honor of being one of the few modern games I've actually bothered to play through to completion in a looong time. Despite having a relatively holywood portrayal of technology it was quite fun and still somehow decently nerdy. Damn shame to hear their newer games suck so much.
Dude, Woooosh etc,
If he's quoting Team America I'd guess that you're "lecturing to the choir" so to speak.
1. All samples have to come from someplace else no matter where you are
