you don't need a high speed bus for mouse and keyboards. USB 1.0 and 1.1 was like that made for low speed peripherals not hard disks and other high speed stuff.
but you can get / built a pc with better hardware for less then you can with the iMacs and YOU CAN ALSO USE ANY SCREEN THAT YOU WANT. The mac starts at $2300 and putting a ATI HD2600XT in a system at that price is not good.

This is want happens when look and cutting down on fan noise comes over what the engineers say is needed for the system to work right and not over heat. The mac mini and the mac cube has some of the same trade offs in this area. The Xbox is like to used in a small space so don't cut out the cooling and a bigger size will also put the PSU in side of the box cutting down the small fanless psus from Craping out as well.
Right now AT&T has speed based pricing and they can't just set caps based on speed as some people are to far way to get higher speeds and why should they have to pay for more for going over the cap then if you where able to get a higher speed with a higher cap. If they have caps on dsl then give the users the max speed that the line can handle.
4 is likely the news about the amd intel lawsuit came out around the time apple said that they where going to intel and people said that intel may of did some anti-competitive stuff to get that deal. Also soon after that dell said that they will start useing amd cpus so parts of the apple deal may end up in court / FTC report.

not only that ati on board video is a lot better then the intel one + is can use side port ram.
