    Core2Duo may have lower power use but chipsets still use more.
    Intel's new exons may use less power for the cpus but when you add the chip set and the FB-Dimms it is about the same as amd cpus + chipset + ddr ecc ram.

    when you have lots of contractors and sub contractors thing's are easy to get missed placed or used with out filling out the need forums.
    Like that one contractor that used a FIB agent login to get about the long time it was taking him to get the ok do to simile stuff like add a printer for the new systems that he was setting up. That was all ready running late and over budget.

    The FSB will be a big bottleneck even more so with the cpu needing to use to get to ram. You would need about 3-4 FSBs with 1-2 mb per core of L2 to make it fast.

    WGA and other drm does not work with slow links. How can you sell apps that need to be online for checking if they are legal and licensed with forced big updates / patch downloads when you need to pay $0.10 or more a mb.

    Follets systems are not just as messed up.
    Why put a 32 bit pci card in a pci-x 133 slot? when there other pci slots.
    Why run nt4 on p4 based duel xeon systems?
    Why run your pos system on 98 inside of cases that you can cut your hand on because the case in real small.

    vending machine don't need to hooked up to the internet and the school can control when they are turned on.
    also schools like to have there systems locked down what kind of access does the ad software need?
    Can the schools keep ads that don't belong in school off of them?

    Let see how far M$ can get with trying to repossess State Property.
    How many school would even sign up for this? I did read about some thing like this a few years ago in pcworld and it said that the school could not install any software and they had to open up the lab to the people who gave them the computers for there own uses. It also used SAT internet. I think it was called zapme or something like that.

    If this new user interface paradigm brakes a lot of older apps then this new windows may take a VERY long time for people to switch to it.
    Also by then most people would start to drop off of XP and it the newer windows do not soon wont run there apps and M$ is thinking about not comeing out with the next vista sp like 2000 and what is going with xp right now then we may see a BIG move to OSX or Linux uses wine or xp in VM to use the older apps.

    most typical PC don't the pci bus bandwidth that is needed for most routing. You can't even run one gig-e card at full speed on it.
    Pci-e can but most systems only have 2-3 pci-e x1 slots.

    The Family Pack lets you put it on 5 systems so if you have a mac and a few pcs when 10.5 comes out you are licensed for 5 systems. In some places it is illegal to only let it run on there hardware only. So a license saying apple hardware only will not stand up that well.
