    Please remember that in the above posts, USC Title 17 104 uses the language "fair use" in itself. Thus, fair use has been codified in American law. This may not mean much, but hey, what can you do about it?

    On the other hand, I, for one, welcome our new RIAA lawyer overlords.

    There is no way that this money can be converted back into RLC (real life currency.) If there was a way, and he did, then he could easily be punished under fraud/racketeering laws. But again, IANAL.

    What was the name of that MMORPG that would let you move game currency into the real world and vice-versa?

    If you get a court order with the wrong date somewhere in the order (in the future), can't you say that the order makes no sense, because the crime couldn't have taken place yet?
    From the order: Data was first deleted in December 2006.

    Date has not yet occured, therefore, one could argue that the order is irrelevant.
    Like most here, IANAL.

    Didn't you read the article? The HIV-1 cells they injected were genetically engineered not to have the ill effects of HIV/AIDS. So they were meant to, in all actuality, be like the HIV/AIDS of deadly reputation, but without the threat of lawsuits waiting in the wings.

    We know that HIV is the virus which mutates into AIDS. Proof enough? It's like an axiom. Accepted without proof, because we already know it to be true.

    I still don't believe it's admissable regardless. A statement like that, without being a deposition or sworn testimony, is hearsay. Only the deathbed declaration (and other exceptions) are admissable in court. (IANAL.)

    But they can't do that. It's illegal (in the States) to continue a court case once the defendant is deceased. I forget the legalese for it right now, but it's here somewhere...

    Beslan wasn't Islamic jihadists. It was the machination of a Chechen warlord, who's now dead (thank god.) My middle school had a silent auction for the survivors/victim's families. We raised $3500.
