The problem with preventing one group of people from discussing their ideas in open sight is that they will go somewhere else, and now the two opposing groups will be even less is touch, eliminating any chance of dialogue or exchange of ideas.
I personally witnessed a take out of a Novell 2.x file server which had a 16 year uptime. This was for a school system, and they had forgotten where the file server was. Stuffed in the back of a janitorial closet, and dust covered.
Was there a sign on the door saying "Beware of the Leopard?"
Unfortunately, most artists are control freaks when it comes to their work. They have their golden ratios and whatnot, and freak out when things don't look the way they intended. Also, they are perfectionists and have a hard time letting go of their work, so more time spent on a project often equals more and more minute detail, requiring ever more precise positioning.
It's a wonderful time-saver for Apple fans to be able to smell their own farts at any time! I expect the device to be equipped with a satisfied electronic sigh, with plenty of pleasant harmonics.
Also, I'm not sure that I want the company that is about to start regulating the "truthness" of information to have power in libraries, the one place where people have traditionally been able to pick up ANY book about ANY subject, and decide for themselves.
Yep. A few years ago I would have began an endless rant about the benefits of a CD vs. a cassette, but I must be getting old, since now I simply thought "well, each to their own I guess..."
So this HP is like the Porsche 911 R of the laptop world? Something that isn't just about numbers, but actual utility? I, for one, welcome the year 2017 as the Year Of Common Sense. I can certainly think of some things that could use it... The global economy, immigration policies, and this Internet of Things nonsense for example.
Of course this sort of jurisdiction could never be misused, or used as a political weapon to silence the opposition. True and fake being the binary value it is, this seems completely harmless, and totally healthy to me. A simple, elegant, final solution.
Because of browser feature creep, because of building everything on layer-on-layer-on-layer of the latest quickly thrown together crap, and because of the fact that browsers are now used for things they were never intended for.
I agree. Unfortunately the socialist way of handling with these things has always been to push their agendas down people's throats, with censorship an/or force if necessary. When you have a system that sounds good on paper but -- when applied -- is contrary to human nature, then simple free will isn't going to cut it.
Congratulations, sitting alone here at home, I actually uttered the words "what the f*ck is this sh*t" out loud when I opened that GitHub link. No mean feat, considering how difficult asterisks are to pronounce.
This, very much this. In the optimistic nineties anything was acceptable, and some countries *cough Sweden cough* decided it was their holy duty to welcome the world. In fact so much so, that it became the official dogma.
Well, guess what? There is, in fact, a reason that not all people of different cultures get along (hint: they will not adapt but instead bring a value system of their own), and a reason why, in most of history, only people with skills valuable to the community have been welcomed.
One thing's for sure -- if they have to rebuild their app from the ground up, then they're going to f*ck it up by adding everything and the kitchen sink, and going full monetize. Can't wait for the "you just listened to a song about b*tches, would you like to buy some b*tches now?" popups.
There's no spoon, man!
Maybe their new logo cost them so much, that they can't now afford to actually pursue the goal which the new logo represents.

Cue Bill Hicks (RIP) and the 2001: A Space Odyssey theme...

Also, don't miss today's Microsoft-sponsored episode of "Ow! My Balls!"

Maybe it's only Google's spy algorithms that need the full res, the rest of the world can have the shitty version.
Yes! Kill switches only allow bad robots to turn off the good robots!

Ideologies do not think in terms of quarterly profits, they think in terms of generations.

Any sufficiently retarded headline in indistinguishable from trolling.

Bill Hicks sure was ahead of his time.
If you find Swedes too introvert, welcome to Finland...
Rotate the pod, please, HAL... Hm, I don't think he can hear us.
There was this piece of news that iPhone users get more sex... That combined with the "skinny jeans" factor can't be good for the phone, methinks.
