    Uber requires that you pass a Driving Background Check, a Sexual Predator background check, a Criminal background check, a SSN trace to verify your identity, and a car inspection by a city licensed mechanic

    Does Uber follow up and verify your background check, or do they just accept any documentation you send them?

    Well they are insured and they do have a license, so I am not sure your point.

    They don't have a LIVERY license, and they don't have COMMERCIAL insurance.

    You realize that there is a difference between standard car insurance and commercial livery insurance, right?

    I'm sure you'll be happy to be sued when your Uber driver hits someone while transporting you and neither the driver's insurance nor Uber is willing to pay.

    In addition, they must pick up any fare who calls for service (none of this "I'm not going into THAT neighborhood" or "I'm not picking up THAT guy" crap).

    That assumes she didn't simply dismiss their concerns with the type of entitled attitude that has come to be a defining mark of both the Left and Right wings of the Demopublican Party.

    If so, then getting them citizenship may be a good idea.

    I've seen the question asked, but not answered....

    If journald is a separate daemon from the rest of systemd, that should mean that I can COMPLETELY REMOVE journald without affecting systemd. Is that correct?

    The answer should be either Yes, which means that the general understanding of the UNIX philosophy is maintained, or No, which would demonstrate that systemd has too many inter-dependencies, and is in fact a monolithic environment.

    I imagine you've never been denied service because of how you looked, the neighborhood you live in, or some other subjective opinion.

    It must be nice where you live, that ignorance and intolerance don't exist, and where everyone has immediate access to perfect information all the time. I wouldn't share my location with the general populace, though....the rest of the world isn't so nice.

    Something I think will eventually happen, especially if the open carry state also has concealed carry....Florida and Texas, I'm looking at you.

    A person will see someone openly carrying, pull out their wallet and cell phone, and say loudly and clearly, "Don't shoot, just take my things. Please don't hurt my kids!" Then the concealed carriers will shoot at the open carrier, thinking themselves "the good guys with the guns" and the area (likely) turns into a free-fire zone as everyone with a gun imagines that they are the hero saving the day.

    I only hope I am nowhere near that scene when it goes down.

    From looking at the pictures on the site, one of the cars appears to be an early 1990 vintage Ford Mustang, and another older small pickup is shown. Therefore, I'd say if your "rust bucket on wheels" isn't too large, it may work.

    There's another company near me that is working on making electric and hybrid delivery trucks. They also convert Mercedes ML series SUV's to electric, and have a program to retrofit diesel trucks and vans.

    The point is that if disaffected Islamic youth in Australia are buying the "war on Islam" propaganda, what chance does the U.S. and their allies have in Iraq and Syria?

    Anything they do there will only amplify the view that they are modern day Crusaders.

    As long as the more stable regional powers refuse to directly confront the extremists, it becomes very easy for this view to continue.
