The site is simply set up to restrict any connections coming from outside the US. A Finnish Internet site could just as easily restrict US connections if it wanted to. So what is your point supposed to be, exactly?
He's wearing a Blackwater t-shirt. It doesn't mean he's actually a Blackwater contractor. I also don't see any reason for the DEA to hire Blackwater for something like this.
What a load of shit. There's no reason why a video game can't have a story as good as those found in literature and film, and no reason why we should, apparently, reject such games whenever they appear. As a medium, video games are perfectly suited to storytelling, and even enable things that are flat out impossible in literature and film.
I cannot fucking believe people are still trying to pull this shit. How about you go and tell all the film, music, book, game and art critics in the world that they have to drop everything they're doing because they can't do any better? Of course, in a sane world (population: not you) it doesn't take a game designer to point out that, say, a quest is broken or that the voice acting is horrendous.
You know, I just tried installing my completely legitimate copy of Neverwinter Nights 2, and I think SecuROM is making the installer crash. If I had a faster Internet connection I would torrent it for sure, along with the expansion (that I don't have).
Stardock is just crazy for not using DRM. What are they thinking?
I have not gotten around to playing it just yet, but reading the story of Boatmurdered prompted me to download it.
The dwarven settlement of Boatmurdered (eh what?) is created and eventually run to the ground by several players, each governing the city for one year of game time. Madness ensues (with lots of homicidal elephants).
Yeah, this was pretty bad. Pretty fucking bad as a matter of fact. The first paragraph has nothing whatsoever to do with the book, and the rest is extremely uninformative and not even entertaining.
It's not just the speed, it's the amount of skill required. You don't get free kills because the game decided that your next rocket is a critical hit (that kills half the server), and you can't just go around flailing around randomly like a moron and still get points. If you don't know what you're doing then tough shit, you lose. Of course, this sort of philosophy does not really appeal to today's casual gamers.
If you browse at +2 you're playing right into the hands of those who abuse Slashdot's moderating system. The vast, vast majority of downmoddings here are completely invalid and illegitimate.
I'm sorry, but modding me flamebait does not prove me wrong. I'm sure you would have figured that out if your cognitive capabilities weren't slightly below a monkey's.
You're anonymous, you don't have a foe list. Why would you add me to one anyway? I'm not responsible for Slashdot's broken moderating system that ultimately makes no distinction between "fuck shit piss cunt" and normal replies.
Not at all. I simply figured that even if I write a completely legitimate and reasonable post, it'll be downmodded anyway. So what does it matter what I post?
Since I keep getting arbitrarily downmodded all the time anyway, it clearly doesn't matter what I post. Might as well start spamming inane shit like this.

If I caught you reading my hypothetical diary, I would inflict considerable bodily harm upon you.
I'm actually the one who posted this story.

It's not exactly a Roguelike and it's not supposed to be.

As opposed to EVE's even more meaningless grinding? EVE is like the definition of pointlessness.
Too bad it isn't actually any fun, which is something of a bad thing in a video game.
Hell yeah man, this sounds like a blast.
Seriously I think I'd rather play with Excel than go anywhere near EVE.
Doom had recordable demos too. I'm sure it wasn't the first game to have them.
Basically, yeah.

Only a Slashdotter could somehow bring up US foreign policy in the Middle-East when discussing how to catch serial killers.
So... why exactly was this modded troll?
I'd love to see how TF2 players would react to seeing a game of Quake or Q3A. They'd probably shit their pants and start crying.

Actually I didn't because they're not the same thing. I linked to netlabels.

Yes, let's blame me instead of the utterly broken moderating system that protects the lazy and the corrupt.

HEY LOOK AT THIS EVERYONE!
