... and Mars is a lot like East Africa compared to Low Earth Orbit. However, we have had a continuous presence in LEO since November 2000: over 15 years. So, if we can do it there, we can do it on Mars.
In the U.S., Memorial Day is considered the "unofficial" first weekend of summer
Assuming that the last "unofficial" weekend of summer is the labour day weekend, that would mean that Canada has a longer summer. Our first weekend of summer is the May Two-Four, the weekend before Memorial Day.
How does this impact me or most other people in any significant way? I don't think it does.
Right at the moment, it doesn't. However, that first stage that landed may be used to launch a communications satellite that might be used to transmit your sports, game shows, and reality shows to you. Or perhaps it will be used to launch a weather satellite that will let the barley farmers produce a better yield for cheaper beer.
As far as putting your resources to better use, cut your military spending by 1%. You'd still have the biggest, baddest military on the planet by far, but you'd have an extra 6 billion dollars to put towards global warming.
The GPS satellites have a limited lifespan. They need periodic replacement, which means we need more launches. If the US can buy those launches for less money, then there is more money for beer.
Obviously the most influential items are stone knives and bear skins, from which you can build a duotronic circuit to access your tricorder, and decide the entire course of 20th century history.
Just because a car isn't top of the line doesn't mean it's not worth having.
You just answered your own question. Just because the stuff coming out of Hollywood isn't top of the line, doesn't mean it's not worth having. Consider the Star Trek movies: Despite the even/odd/multiple-of-five rule of suck, for a Star Trek fan it is worth having the entire set.
As for paying the asking price, There are two suppliers: Paramount and Pirate Bay. Pirate Bay has the lower asking price, so it is purely an economic decision. If Paramount wants to be a monopolistic supplier, they need to cut off the alternate suppliers or match their price structure, not go after the consumer.
It takes a certain amount of money to host a video: power and internet access, server maintenance, backup facilities and the like. If a video isn't pulling its weight, it's actually costing money, not making money. That's why they "expire".
The bible talks more about usury (charging interest) than it does about the "mark of the beast": something spoken of in direct language instead of symbolic/apocalyptic imagery. You should focus on those passages.
The edge of space is 328,000 feet (100km). They're only going up 90,000 feet. That's less than a third of the way. "Oh, look! I'm on the second floor. I'm on the edge of space!"

Not biscuit. It's a muffin
Try ordering a muffin in McDonald's and wait for the blank stare from the cashier.
The McDonalds restaurants around here all serve muffins. It's part of their McCafe initiative.
Bays don't sail...
... actually some do
Once you go black, you never go back.
Or forward, since you can't tell where the link is.

No. The steam engine was first used to pump sump water out of the mines, not to pump air into them.
I asked my wife... She said it's the Vibrator...
It made the top ten, beating out the VCR, the typewriter, the video game console, the personal computer, the pager, and the pocket calculator.

I'm not going to drive three quarters of the way across the continent to watch a movie.
Oh, please! There isn't a movie in existence that isn't downloadable before they get to the theatres.
The scene where the robot is stumbling on the pipe also reminds me of the scene in Return of the Jedi where the AT-ST is tripping on a pile of logs.
You do it on your burner phone... duh!

44%? This, to you, is cashless? I don't know if I would even call 4.4% cashless.
On the Oregon Cost born and raised, On the beach is where I spent most of my days

Right now we are advising all our clients to put everything they've got into canned food and shotguns.
Time to corner the market on can-openers and shotgun shells, I guess.
