let me see. lack of innovation ? facelift, bells and whistles instead of usability ? how about innovating in them, instead of a skymap ? you are aware that putting out an os which works as best as only your earlier os, without providing any noticeable functionality. oh, of course, other than complying with drm and whatnot support demands from private interests....

oh gee. for a second, i thought the 'anything has issues' bullshit might not come my way. but, even you, have done it.
i dont have the time to make a list of how disastrous microsoft oses have been compared to others in the past 5 years. all is in slashdot, and probably, you already know a lot of them. so spare me the effort.

drop items to your ndas, contracts that they have to provide references in detail for you, regarding the project you have done there.

there is no higher proof of competency and ability than proof of prior work. certificates are like school courses. everybody can take one if one attends the courses, or passes an exam. practicing in the field however, is an entirely different matter.
portfolio shows that you not only know your field, but also you have properly and responsibly participated in projects, collaborated, and actually built stuff with it, and saw them to their completion.
that is the kind of people you want to hire. and nothing than a portfolio shows it better.

i think we have exhausted the usability of this discussion. i will get out. there is no way to agree when one starts redefining concepts, as you are doing. you are projecting your reality into the situation, instead of taking things as they are.
the document was meant to be that secretive as geist makes it sound. but, all countries do not agree on this acta thing, leave aside its secrecy. the ones which are vying for that are united states of america, which houses the private interests who got that treaty prepared in the first place to push their own interests, and uk, due to their lesser counterparts being in the same boat. all the others are less than positive to this thing, but they dont want to go without say in it, hence, participating. some are probably actively trying to sabotage the talks, as all should do. some, like india, are openly against it.
you owe the leakouts to sources that do not agree with american hollywood and media.
they arent segments. and you cannot justify it nomatter how many analogies you attempt to establish in a half assed manner.
your approach is trying to identify suvs, family sedans, sports cars as segments. they are not segments, they are genres as a gaming analogy.
a lexus sedan is in a segment, whereas a hyundai sedan is another segment. they are PRICE/LUXURY classifications. these are what segments mean. NOT functional classes.
frp is a genre. fps is a genre. it is not a segment. they are not priced differently because of their functional differences.
they arent segments. people do not differentiate in between rpg prices, and fps prices. or adventure prices. they are all considered as 'games'. and most of them are in the similar price range. stalker's price isnt different from dragon age's price range. they are ranged in the same range.
it is huge, because this Simon Power person apparently knows everything and understands everything as it is. not one bit more, not one bit less. he basically precisely identified the issue in most bare and sharpest form. this was unprecedented, among politicians. hopefully more will follow.
that's corporations' delusion, probably more because their marketing departments employ usual marketing and market understanding shit they learned in college to gaming.
for the masses, there is a 'computer game'. and thats the only classification, apart from their genre differences. they either buy it, or, they dont buy it. they dont classify themselves like 'hmmm, i like short, easy to complete games. so, i should go for that segment. let me see, what games are out in that segment nowadays'. no such delusion exists. they go and buy a game.
the only classification apart from a 'game', is probably 'mmo game'. and that is because they require monthly payments.
radiohead was radiohead, and as radiohead they made enough money in 4 hours just as much as they would be able to do with touring for a year for a label.
if, randomschmuck band is randomschmuck band, they will make as much money in similar time in a similar fashion. the novelty of 'pay as much as you want' is accounted for in this calculation. in case you have missed, that album is STILL selling and raking in money as of now, instead of NOT making any money as it would have, if it was given to a label.
the point here is, labels fuck artists. artists can make as much, no, actually MORE money than what they would do with a label, if they do it themselves. radiohead can still go to concerts in their own accord and make money.
and why it wouldnt make sense ? darth vader himself, betrayed his master, which happened to be the fucking emperor of entire galaxy, and killed him, and passed to light on a whim.
and you end up earning only as much money as you would have if you have given your album out like radiohead did. difference is, latter took only 4 hours for radiohead to make as much money as they could with 1 year of concerting.
well excuse me, but what good is a nice looking album distributed, promoted in good numbers going to do to you, if you do not even get $23 out of $1000, as per in the related article ?

in china government orders your site down, because they dont like it.
in usa private people and companies order your site down, because they dont like it. they just need to use an excuse for invoking dmca.
the only difference is, there is a storefront in usa, and people think they are 'free'.
yeah and what they have done with their o/s up to this point has been successful. there are no problems or complaints at all.
drop items to your ndas, contracts that they have to provide references in detail for you, regarding the project you have done there.

you can provide a demo, or, get a reference from the prior project owner you worked for. with as much details as you can.
there is no higher proof of competency and ability than proof of prior work. certificates are like school courses. everybody can take one if one attends the courses, or passes an exam. practicing in the field however, is an entirely different matter.

there is an uprising against acta already. eu doesnt like it. eu parliament banned various potential implementations of it. india openly opposes it.
all it needs more encouragement, for it to become a full fledged uprising.

Sell us an ENGINE with one storyline/episode, in FULL.
put out new storylines/episodes as time goes by, and sell those to us, as DLCs.
do not sell us half finished, half assed games to rip off money like base swindlers.

fool. are you aware that all you describe are genres ? not SEGMENTS ?

and what does that matter ?
