mass effect wasnt available in stores here after launch. i knew that it was going to take long, so i decided to 'acquire' it from other sources. acquire it, i did too. the acquisition just ended at the exact day i have casually went to the local mall and found that they have brought mass effect and selling. there's the already 'acquired', 'proper' mass effect sitting at home, there is the $30 buck one at the store. what did i do ?
i bought it from the store and used it. why ?
because i knew it was worth it. i knew it wasnt just a silly rehash of some stupid previous game that was built with some 3D toon/action design programs and sh@tty gameplay to shove to the masses for more cash. i respected bioware logo and what they did before. thats why i bought it. no i wont hide my enthusiasm and respect behind smug nerdy comments, ill outright express them, and then give you a heavy slap on the face.
now there's this crap. so if i upgrade my motherboard, for getting more bang with the next gen cards that are going to be launched this month, im going to have use up an 'activation' key, one out of 3 limited ones ? or go through hassles with the company to acquire other ones ?
no sir. i wont do such a thing. the day your game gives me problems, will be the day i get a 'fix' for your game regardless of how much did i respect the logo of bioware in the past, and be done away with the hassles youre shoving up my butt. i say 'in the past', because that day will also be the day in which my respect for your name will have phenomenonally lessened. i wont give a damn - if you have chosen to sell yourselves to a greedy buck co like Ea, and go along with their sh@t, you have to face its consequences too.
WHY the hell prominent software houses like Bioware allow themselves to be bought out by big buck companies ? It has been repeatedly seen that such big companies like Ea, Vivendi, Sony turn whatever they buy into shit. how did the founders of bioware stomach selling their beloved company to those goons ?
since everything related to design and implementation are generally defined by the datelines and budget that is available. you may have to define what the context for 'good' is.
tell him that spam never works for legitimate companies that dont infect people's pcs and spam out of the zombies made because :
1 - get past some number of Cc:s and your mail instantly drops to spam, or even dropped to blackhole. it may be 10 in some services, 20 in others.
2 - gmail has a very efficient spam filtering. your spam will probably get detected in the 50th or 100th email arriving in gmail and will fall to spam. at hotmail 101th email will go to blackhole.
3 - probably around 500th email you are going to get listed in spamcop.net and hundreds of thousands of private, small web host firm servers that use whm/cpanel will automatically start filtering your emails because they use blacklists. (new auto feature in whm, turns on with a single click and save).
4 - very soon youll isp will be informed of your doing, and contact you to inquire. if you are not able to put a valid excuse, well, youre in trouble.
tell that to your idiot boss. tourism industry people generally think spam works. i have seen it before.
world neednt stand still, but at least tarry for 4-5 months before phenomenally slashing the value of whatever something that has been sold. at least, more than 1.5 months ffs.
assasin's creed was running better on ati cards on directx 10.1, due to ati drivers being more mature.
nvidia moaned.
ubisoft removed 10.1 support with a patch. now assasin's creed runs worse on ati cards.
thats how they get their 'performance'.
in case you are wondering, whether i am a fanboi or not - i dislike being fanboi of anything. but when i see some party pulling bullshit, i side with the other.
Oh, you mean people that will just hand the future of the nation over to the banking industry? why should he do that.
Yeah, whatever. You'd instead rather put *total* discretion in the hands of one man that, in the process of being elected President, accepted millions of dollars in special-interest money to get elected, and likely accepted millions before that in being elected to lower office, and then you think that somehow he won't be beholden to those interests, right? I appreciate the youthful idealism, but this is the real world we're dealing with sadly im no longer idealistic, or can be deemed young.
buyer beware applies to elections as well as grocery shopping. if you elect caesar, you can expect a dictator. if you elect FDR, you can expect something else.
unfortunately the alternative to this is armed revolution as your constitution states, and its only legal if things REALLY get out of hand. but, things never go that out of hand, at least in appearance. they make things appear legal, so that option will be closed to you.
to elect someone you have to go with the best of the available flock. up the ante in every election by small bits, bring on change gradually. after all, the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
democratical election and lawmaking process is very prune to exploitation by the rich. this issue is there since the roman times. not greek, because only landowners, rich aristocrats were able to vote in greece, whereas in early republic romans have given all kinds of rights to all citizens, with the tribune (public assembly, being able to pass laws that would bind both pleb (commoners) and the patricii (the elite) in addition to the long standing senate in which only elites would get elected and vote.
yet despite this, the election and lawmaking has remained the province of wealthy. regardless pleb or patricii you were, you were able to affect the going of matters if you had enough cash at hand.
this issue persists today. its especially rife in united states, with corporate donations, shady connections, and, in the extreme case, something called 'lobby' firms.
as was in the roman era, these people are able to influence all congress and senate elections and lawmaking as they want. they even can force presidents who are vetoing them by other means, through earmarking their stuff into bills that are very necessary to pass.
all these are the machinations of elitism, that is remnant of roman times.
the french revolution era example is to signify that law is not always righteous. in france, at that period, it was the long practiced law that aristocracy had god given rights to rule, govern, and be priviledged. this was the rule back then. with your logic, if there had been some king or prince that had made a decision to the benefit of the public, but high judges in france have overturned it citing the god given rights of aristocracy, we were supposed to accept that judges were right. (not that there were any kings or princes that would do so for that matter, but for the sake of example).
today its still the same. bills are passed through congress by sponsorship of interest groups still. they exclusively craft favorable conditions for their masters. this in the end makes judiciary just a tool under their hands, willingly or unwillingly. at this stage, a president like FDR, who would go around the high court's decision regarding stuff like we are talking about, would be a god given blessing.
in short, in an ideal world, you are right. however we are not in an ideal world yet, and we need FDRs.
like this guy, i have been a staunch defender of net neutrality in the small forums i run and in my friend circle, but given the right price, say, like 200 bucks or 250, i can invent many reasons why we should hand the fate of freedom of information for billions to the hands of verizon, comcast, at&t et al. i may be cheap, but i talk much.
just let me know whats your take on laws in 1789 france concerning 'aristocracy and its privileges and right to rule is god given right and tradition of france' then.
if supreme court acts to protect corporate interests at the expense of the people, and 'interprets' law to that effect, i dont see any issues with a president trying to bypass supreme court.
lets remember that not only the law but also tradition of france was that 'ruling and privileges are aristocracy's god given rights', and in years leading up to 1789 all aristocrats were defending the 'law', and courts were deciding upon that law.
this example should make it clear that law is not always right. especially in a country like u.s. where corporate lobbyists can buy out laws as they please and make them pass through house and president by pressurizing them from different fronts.
yes, in short you really need a president like fdr now. for the balance is WAY off to the corporate side.
lobbyists, corporate interests, 'donations' to senators, and they produce bills for their masters.
you need to take the reins back. and not listen to 'business should be free' bullshit from conservatives. for the freedom they speak of is only freedom for them to do whatever they want (to the extent of implanting workers with rfid chips for sake of 'security' - until california senate whacked them down) and get on top of the pile. theres no tolerance for competition in their view of life. so its pointless to lend an ear to them.
you need a new 'new deal' president like FDR. one seems to be coming up. grab him.
for it seems we will need their 'fixes' to be able to play our LEGITIMATELY purchased version of this game.
on a sidenote, i have to ask - has it become a tradition to hire iditos for top level management positions in gaming firms ?
i request ubuntu preloaded and then downgrade ?
count me in.
let go of the shitty 1950s mccarthian scare about communism already ffs.
this is so new for me ... i wonder if i can do it ...
..
... shit ...... SHIT .... SHIITTTTTTTTTTT !!!!!!!! OH YEAAA !! THANK YOU LORD !!!
sh.
oh boy. its tough.
shigddd
* ok get a hold on yourself *
sh.....it
... its drm isnt.

i can accept 6 months. but i cant stomach 1.5 months. 9800 cards were just new.
world neednt stand still, but at least tarry for 4-5 months before phenomenally slashing the value of whatever something that has been sold. at least, more than 1.5 months ffs.
pushing a 'new' card just before you are going to release a next gen card is just bad trade practice and nothing else.

8000gts were much louder than their 3870 counterparts too.
i dont get why people fall for that - push a chip to limits, put a noisy fan on it, and sell it as high performance card.
at least with ati 3870 you can decide whether you gonna overclock the card and endure the noise or not.
are royally screwed ? it was a 'new' card and all.
well done nvidia. very microsoft of you.
no more lost than being subjects and at the mercy of an absolute monarch in 1789 france.

if enough of you people would just wake up and supported a candidate that's reasonable, even if s/he is not put forth by the dominant 2 parties.
its quite straightforward.
democratical election and lawmaking process is very prune to exploitation by the rich. this issue is there since the roman times. not greek, because only landowners, rich aristocrats were able to vote in greece, whereas in early republic romans have given all kinds of rights to all citizens, with the tribune (public assembly, being able to pass laws that would bind both pleb (commoners) and the patricii (the elite) in addition to the long standing senate in which only elites would get elected and vote.
