How will you then login to your bank page without https? This content encryption is making torrent traffic indistinguishable from normal https traffic.
You're supposed to wait for some stupid troll to start calling you names (its slashdot,so the first post or so should contain some reference to your fat, ugly, promiscuous mother), then reference it subtly by saying "I came here for an argument!"
No I'm certainly not! Who would want to wait for some stupid troll?
Well, how is it new? My asus laptop with xp can do this too. I just close lid and it goes to sleep. I open lid, press any key and 3 seconds later I'm using windows again. I can hibernate too, if I don't want this slight amount of battery usage to happen.
If everybody followed this quote, particle physics and some other sciences would not be where it is now. In those fields scientists sometimes make theories which predict something and then they make tests. Otherwise every theory would only explain data you have (like string theory) instead of making new exciting predictions (like quantum theory).
I think GP talks about Producing hydrogen with radio waves. It's working, but it's NOT generating energy. It just uses RF energy to split water to oxygen and hydrogen and then burn it.
It doesn't even have hardware-accelerated graphics support(By default) and renders the whole desktop in software
And this is the reason behind slow windows drawing. On normal desktop drawing is accelerated by graphics card. Without proper drivers even xp is very slow.
it will greatly improve utilization and make managing the data center infinitely easier as all you do is plug the device in and it is automatically assimilated into the system.
We are the BOS*. You will be automatically assimilated into the system. Resistance is futile. Welcome your new Cloud Computing overlords.
Yes, it is a design decision. But in XP you CAN have it BOTH ways. Default way is grouping (like in OSX) but I can easily switch it (which I do in every my installation of xp)
It happens in my country without any high tech solutions. All speed traps have a warning about 0.5km before. If there is a patrol with radar gun, drivers which drove past it usually warn drivers from opposed lane with two short bursts of long lights.
In the same way that nobody can remeber being born, non-existence is just too difficult for any human to trully comprehend
Non-existence implies non-comprehension, there will be no YOU to comprehend anything. This is the reason behind problems with comprehending non-existence. I have easy answer for that: when I die, there will be no ME so there is nothing to fear. I think I don't have immortal soul, so I want to live my life the best I can and don't make others' lives worse.
Just like in SL, when there was version 1.9 everybody was like "Cool, now will be 2.0 with havok 2.0 and stability and everything". And then came 1.10. And rage ensued.
And a lot of people can't distinguish good and bad, but like me when it comes to design something, it WILL be bad even for them. Let's face it, most people can't design just like most people can't program (I think often it's only one of those two skills).
Yes yes, Hallowed are thy Mac fanboys. I know my post is flamebait, but why did Jobs say there will be onlyweb based sdk? And now after hackers hacked iphone, he says there will be one?

No, but will it blend? Into landscape of course.

So can we use him as power source? If we used it to power servers running datamining applications, we would have perpetuum mobile!
If you don't live in US why are you here? It's most US-centric news here.
*BOS - Borg OS.
Or it would make me look for another philosophy until I would encounter state of equilibrium.

But you need an OS to access internet, so web apps add ANOTHER point of failure.
So actually they have to PAY YOU $1 for you to watch their CableTV. It's so much crap it has negative value.

And behold, they gave us ajax and webapps.

Erm, we still can use it and show that we need patent reform to prevent another such patents.
Well, I did. And there was no problems. Sure, I had to wait long before windows indexed all files, but there was no problems.
