and if they start putting them in windows that are full screen, and that i can't close, minimize, or resize i bet you can guess who i am never going to buy from again...
Yeah, but if you have 50 workstations after spetember 1, thats $20*50 workstations per month. I realize that this is probably less than the support costs associated with 24/7/365 support, but please realize that this is not only $10. this will be $20/machine/month which may or may not be considerably more than what you charge per hour.
while some of these may be intentional misspellings, i think the more likely explination is that people just can't spell. go to google and search on 'maddona' or 'madona' and you will find sites that really meant 'madonna'.
the only way the RIAA is going to be successful at this is to first teach the entire world how to spell. and Slashdot is probably a good place to start.
I absolutely agree. I thought it was funny, but i don't think it deserves a 5. Maybe a 3, but not a 5. I do think that moderators tend to overlook lots of informative, serious posts deserving of mod points. But the question is, how do you fix it?
but don't fill out the application. it worked for me a couple times at a grocery store near where i live. They were in a hurry, i asked for a card. They gave me the card and told me to bring the application back on my next visit. I never brang the application back, and the card still works.
although if they really want to they can always tie it to my credit card... same as any other store.
lets face it, there really isn't such a thing as undeniable proof when it comes to someones religon. lots of people i know could easily deny anything (even the undeniable proof) that didn't fit into their preconcieved notions of god (whether they believe in him or not). Isn't the power of denial amazing?
Bullshit. At least one company i used to work for would NEVER condone a rewrite. It didn't matter that the product started out as a demo in '92. It didn't matter that ALL of the developers were demanding a rewrite. it didn't even matter when they lost their two senior developers over this. They refused to acknowledge that some things just couldn't be done. In short, i don't think that you can always count on management to be reasonable. You may be in a case that no matter what you do, they will NEVER let you rewrite. So, i think you either have to accept that possibility, or start thinking about jumping ship.
it used to be that there was one food group called Fruits and Vegatables. A few years ago when my younger sister was doing some of that same stuff i saw that they had split that into two seperate food groups, one for fruit and one for vegatables.
When i was younger (im still in my early 20s) there were only 4 food groups, now there are 5. There were 9 planets, now only 8. How can i get the authority to split food groups or demote planets?
I thought that the job of Chief Evangelist already belonged to another Hubbard...
Yep, so the editors at slashdot were just ahead of there time...
I think that this has something to do with the exchange rates...
does this mean that everyone ripping approved songs is going to have to learn to spell things the same way?
so, does that mean that when i am looking at nice pictures at home that my browser window is going to be jumping all around?
and if they start putting them in windows that are full screen, and that i can't close, minimize, or resize i bet you can guess who i am never going to buy from again...
Gives a whole new meaning to uptime too...
"And in many cases, the computer merely serves to waste time whilst appearing to be more efficient."
You mean like slashdot?

its $20/month/workstation for all systems you sign up after april 6, or after september 1 for all systems you sign up before april 6.

... sanity entering the US court system? isn't that one of the signs of the end of the world?

looks like we know where they stand. sales slump, so they try to get people to go out and re-buy all their old cds.
pr0n saves us from Corperate America. how much better can it get?
um, how 'bout in my car? make the roads a safer place...
for some reason i think that it would exceed the weight limits.
i can see the tech support calls now...

Same here. And my first thought was "this REALLY is news for nerds and stuff that matters."
