  1. If i denounce your post for being advertising for woman trafficking, slashdot probably will have to remove it, regardless of being or not.
    The website simply does not have the resources to manually check every complaint, and if they miss a real one, the government shuts the site down.
    And this is true for pretty much all the websites with user content.

    The american left is nothing even close to liberal at the moment, which is why reality is punching it down to death.
    When you need the fucking right to defend freedom of speech, something is really, really wrong with the left.

    If the left abandon the racist as fuck social justice and go back to being "color/gender blind" and tries to find ways to improve the life of those that are in terrible conditions no matter who they are, then they're cured.
    But that probably will take more 4 years.

    Then you will have to accept the fact that judging people by the color of their skin failed you miserably, and that there were enough white people in bad conditions to elect a fucking president.
    Go back to judge people individually or be blind.

    "we are buying GitHub because we believe in the importance of developers".
    This means they will use it basically to headhunt and get all the worthy developers before anyone else, right?

  15. Kinda but not really.
    As we're dealing with a pipelined CPU here, it is just another stage, which means that while the CPU is translating instruction X, it is already running instruction Y and Z and W and... (good thing this is not a pentium 4 description, or i would run out of letters half way in).

    That sounds like a lot of trouble for microsoft, as well ibm, apple etc depends on stuff in github and they may get lawyer happy.
    But doing some sneaky datamining and using it to basically get their paws on the good programmers on the platform before the other corporations can touch em is a thing i'm pretty sure they will do.

    I have the impression that many on the flat earth society are only there to sharpen their argumentation skills, because if you can actually defend something like flat earth without being destroyed on the first or second question, you're pretty darn good at it.
