Anyone go to the Office of the United States Trade Representitive web site? The corners of all squares are cut off, reminds me of Battlestar Galactica.
That is, the Chinese question actually asks you to do mathematics, as opposed to reciting facts about it.
Solve a 1000000 similar problems and it no longer has anything to do with mathematics, you just apply the procedure without even thinking. Entrance exams are flawed, it measures dedication more than anything.
Ask a Chinese student proficient in solving these types of math problems what he/she thinks about art, the answer will be a blank look. Now go to the British Museum and watch the interaction between teachers and students as they analyize a painting.
I'll take the British education system over the Chinese.
Actually if they find out you are doing some sort of suspicious behavior (doing boring grinds for 30 hours straight for example) they will try to chat with you, if you don't answer (I bot using the keyboard and mouse probibly couldn't respond intelligent enough) they ban you.
there are some emails going around that take you to a website with nude pictures of britney spears. Go to that website and just let your pc download the pictures on the site. Let me know how that goes. Remember don't double click on any exe files.
I suggest you talk to these people: Bud Cummins, Carol Lam,
David Iglesias, John McKay, Daniel Bogden, Paul Charlton, Kevin Ryan, Margaret Chiara (hint: they used to be federal procecutors)
I don't think any company wants to downsize. They would rather continuously grow. However a point comes where the company says to its employee(s): "look I can't use you efficiently, I'm paying you and getting enough out of it. You should work somewhere else, where you earn what you make".
Or you can think of it this way: they shouldn't of hired you in the first place.
I can understand why diebold sued. Did you guys read the contract requirements?
Req 13.2.5.3 The voting machine must be manufactured by diebold and have the diebold logo clearly shown on the top surface of the machine.
Clearly there is something fishy is going on in Commuchusetts. How can AutoMARK win such a bid when they clearly don't meet the requirements? Thank you Diebold for looking out for Commochusetts taxpayers!
Please do not generalize based on the behavior of one person. I can tolarate jokes about Turkey all the time... as long as it isn't the joke relating the name of the country to the bird. I've been hearing that since elementary school and it is not funny.
I agree with the Turkish side until the creation of the TRNC. Turkey often says "our invasion was legal as we had guarantor power to protect the cypriot constitution". Creating TRNC is NOT protecting the Cypriot constitution. Turkey always wanted the country split into two (taksim) and when they found an excuse they happily obliged.
Not impossible. A company can choose to trust the consumer "if you listen to this song and like it, you have to pay for it, please delete the song otherwise".
There are other instances where companies simply trust consumers: for example newspaper vending boxes in the US (honor box)
My last microsoft purchase Microsoft visual studio. Is there anything like that for a mac? No disrespect, I really don't know if there is a comparible application. I also purchased Flight Simulator X, a game I enjoy playing.
I'm currently considering buying a laptop for my boat. Initially I thought about purchasing a mac. However I've found at least three navigational/chart plotting apps for a PC and one shady looking app for a mac. The lack of choices are pushing me closer to a PC.
Saying negative things in a reference is highly illegal.
I don't think it is illegal (at least in the US), the employee might sue you if he/she finds out you said something negative about them that is untrue (or at least they might think it is so). Since it is not worth that hassle just saying "no comment" is better.
Yes, but if you talk to a lawyer about this they will tell you NOT to comment on bad behavior. Watching your step when you are not a lawyer is dangerous..
My wife had some problems with one of her employees, her lawyer told her the only thing she should say as a reference is that "such and such employee worked for me from this date to this date". Also I would hope the other side would get the clue when you say "I really cannot comment on this matter".

If you are good at what you do, tour hard, write good music, you can make money. Here is an example: Ani Difranco.

What if all I need it to do is add numbers? Which vista feature is a "must have"?
Good point. Especially if they can prove that the new employees made almost the same amount.
heh

Didn't Ridley Scott rip off George Orwell? Why is one good and the other bad?
You mean: "A rip off of a Mac ad, which was a rip off a novel, shows imagination?" right?
So ironic.
There is no death sentence in Turkey. You might get killed (Hrant Dink) but that killing will not be sanctioned by a court.

It is the government: you have to train the training people.
So that is the cause of the increase in spam ...
latex + CVS + input files
vs. the simplicity of using google apps? What you suggest doesn't even come close.
Yeah, you are right. The Google word processor can maybe kill wordpad and microsoft works.

Where in the article did it say that google is going to start charging for the service? I'm confused.
Remember, remember the fifth of November
