    Think American football. A desperate throw to try to make a touchdown from an area of the field where you should really be focused on gaining a first down.

    For examples, see any football movie involving a slow-motion throw in the last second of the game from too far away that the main character catches against all odds to win the game for Sunnyville High (or whatever) with cheesy music playing in the background.

    heuristics won't help either, malware authors will have pirate copies of all the latest av products and will tweak their malware until the heuristics no longer detect it before they start deploying it.

    I wonder if they get viruses with their pirated anti-virus and keygens.

    Back ontopic, for me the greatest thing about these old platform games was the way that you had to keep trying again and again to get past the tricky bit. Not only did this add to the addictiveness but this gave you enough time to appreciate their subtle brilliance and wonderfully drawn graphics.

    Also known as "taking the cartridge out back and smashing the damn thing with a hammer because it won't fucking do it" or "the game cheated!"
