If you can think of a way to make a printer robot, with all it's moving pieces, electronics, etc... using nothing but rock and metal then you might have something there. I can't wait to see your motor windings made of rock insulated wire, asteroid derived lubricant, rock circuit boards, etc...
"They calculate that this could be done with a single burn on 1 February 2021"
This doesn't sound like a relative term to me. And it was even mentioned in the summary too! I'm not sure I would go so far as to say this means it is objectively easy. I suppose landing a rocket engine on an asteroid and using it to push is something that has never been done before. That alone means there will be challenges to overcome. With only one push necessary though.. that's about as easy as one could realistically imagine is it not?
I once had a group of guys approach me in the middle of the night that I am pretty sure were going to mug me. I had a handheld ham radio in my pocket. Instinctively I put my hand in that pocket because it was by far the most valuable thing on me. That was a bad idea I know as it would just bring attention to what I didn't want them to get but I did it before thinking. This worked out well as when I did it made the antenna push outward against the inside of my jacket. One of the guys thought it was a gun and they all left. I stopped taking night time walks in that neighborhood.
Come on, stop worrying about this. If you like something, if it suits your purposes then use it. If somebody else doesn't like it they can kiss your ass. Everybody has some sort of gadget they want to carry around these days. We need a good way to carry them. Eventually people will just wear the holsters, fanny packs, cargo pants, etc that they need to do so and won't feel embarassed because everyone else is too. Then we will all realize that it really doesn't look that bad anyway. People just think it does now because somebody told them so. That you even asked this question shows you can think for yourself.
Disclaimer... I am married. I have a child. I don't need to attract anyone now.
That's only true in a system where there are two clear 'main' parties and the thrid parties really don't have a chance. We have that system because people believe exactly what you just wrote. It's a self fulfilling prophecy. I know that I can't fix this by changing my one vote but I do know that many many people doing the same is the way to fix it. Besides, my one vote isn't going to decide the election for either of the two main candidates anyway.
Sure, any religious people SHOULD do that but spreading the word is not the same thing as forcing your rules on others.
People like The Constitution Party want to push their interpretation of their religion's rules on people, not introduce them to their god.
If you think you know God and that he is everyone's creator, ticket to eternal life, etc... especially if your religion says the alternative is eternal damnation then you certainly should want to help others know him too. You would be kind of a monster not to. "Aww, let them all go to Hell, I don't care."
That means religious people should be trying to introduce people to their god(s). But why push their god's rules on everyone? If they come to believe in your god they will adopt your rules anyway, not that that should be the point. If your religion is right and they accept your rules but don't know your god they still go to hell or whatever your religion believes happens to unbelievers.
I may not want a bunch of people preaching their religion to me, trying to get me to convert but if they honestly believe there is so much to be gained by converting and so much to lose by not doing so then wouldn't they be really bad people if they didn't try? Who is worse, the annoying guy that won't shut up about his beliefs or the one that just doesn't care if I burn in hell for eternity or not?
"And then realize that the target for API completeness is two versions, now almost three, behind where OSX is today."
I really doubt anybody would go through all that work of targeting 10.6 and then never touch it again.
No doubt if they were getting close to meeting that target there would be a new target with a newer version. The thing with clone libraries like these (such as Wine) is that it isn't practical to target the latest version. You don't really get to start working on targeting a new version until the company who's libraries you are cloning releases them so you are always at a disadvantage. It's better to just aim for something recent enough that it can run a significant amount of still-relevant software but plan to always be a bit behind.
If you can't afford a good laser printer then a dot matrix one can be useful. Inkjets suck, they dry out or the timer chips in the cartridges expire. They collect dust inside and start leaving streaks on the paper requiring difficult cleaning processes (or more likely just buying a new one) Ink is rediculous expensive!!
I was really regretting that I didn't keep a dot matrix printer myself. For a while I was looking for a nice used one to print out pdf manuals, ebooks and stuff like that. Tractor fed paper is great if you want to print out reams of it at a time without having to babysit. Just place the printer on a high shelf so the paper has plenty of room to go down as it prints. You can let it go all day. Most newer consumer grade printers will just jam up if you try that.
My work decided to get rid of an old HP LaserJet so I don't need a dotmatrix any more but otherwise I probably would have one by now.
Then again, now that I have a tablet I don't print books so often as I used to. It's still nice to know that I can though.
Oh... and Dot Matrix printers are great for printing receipts!
You had better hope that Dr Who remains in Brittish hands. Here in the US it is carried by that bastard channel now knows as SyFy. Do you know what they do with popular series that land in their laps but weren't originally invented in house? After scheduling it for 2am Wednesday morning for about half a season, citing the ratings drop they will take the series right back to where it was in the 90s! You know, episodes like the ones from 1990-1995 or 1997-2004. They would probably end it in a cliff-hanger too!
The Doctor is a man with an almost all powerful tine/space ship that picks up companions... usually pretty girls and runs about time and space having adventures. Come on... don't try to tell me that the viewers aren't mostly geeky males who enjoy that sort of show because they secretly fantasize about BEING The Doctor! (or at least like him) Making The Doctor a woman would be awesome for a couple of episodes, just to shake things up but would quickly alienate the core audience if it continued beyond that. Likewise, a short-lived regeneration would only severly piss off the 'break the glass ceiling' types that want to see a female doctor.
Don't get me wrong, there are female geeks who would enjoy their turn. But.. even if they were equal in number with the male ones (no way that is true) it wouldn't make any sense to change an already existing show for them. You don't spend decades building up your presence in one market just to leave it and start from scratch in a new one! It would be much better to make a new product (show) for the new market while maintaining the old one.
So.. As RobertLTux says... Bring Back Jenny!!!! I'm thinking giver her a big role for a season and then spin her off if all goes well. If she gets spun off, make sure to have crossover episodes, those are always fun.
But, is a spinoff good enough to imply the glass ceiling is broken? Well.. would that be the same glass ceiling that other's have pointed out didn't stop Buffy, Lost Girl, the Underworld movies, Resident Evil and others from being made? Give it a rest already!
Of course... I'm not Brittish so maybe my ideas of ratings, etc are inapplicable. Maybe things are different over there.
If that were true then they would realize that we were getting in the way of their ability to muck about and have a good time. Consider the dolphin slaughters http://www.takepart.com/article/2013/03/04/taiji-2013 and our general tendency to pollute the water they have their good time in. If they were really that intelligent then by now they would be at least working on the ability to wage war... against us!
LOL! You must live in a windy place. Try to get out more. Unfortunately, only in certain rare locations is wind cheaper than oil. Sure.. wind is great when it is actually blowing but most of the time in most locations your windmill investment is just sitting there rusting. I drive by several wind turbines on the way to work. I'm not sure why they were built here, I think some local politician must have thought it was a good idea to subsidize them or something. Anyway, I would say that about 4 days out of 5 THEY AREN'T EVEN TURNING! There just isn't enough wind to save the world. Sorry!

Bags suck. You have to carry them. It's not worth it to carry something around all day just to make a fashion statement.

Way to prove your point!
You can get booze and hookers for bitcoin now?
I want to pay my taxes in jars of hamster poop now. Thank you!

Yeah, but explain the re-election!
Why. Do you think nobody is looking at all that ilegally obtained data?
Duh! Photoshop.

And that was just the summary, I didn't even have to rtfa to get that!!!
Dot Matrix?! Hey!

It would seem so.
That's Amerikkka you jackass!
>> UK had a female PM in the 80's
>> Barack Obama is not a woman
Have you actually checked to verify either of those claims? I surely haven't! Neither are my type.
