Call it a typo or a pink elephant it's still poor spelling by someone who was complaining about spelling. Fess up dude, you messed up trying to tell me I messed up. I just find the general irony funny, not you, nothing more.
When will people who bitch about spelling learn to spell? ("spamemrs") Oh sorry, you did it deliberately? I think that excuse grew old from my 4th grade teacher. I don't rely giv a dam about spelin on/. n it seams kneever doo you/u/ewe mi bruva.
Talk about inevitable jokes - Don't you think that M$ may already have solar power in place? Solar power in Redmond, WA might explain why Vista is so behind, they can only power up for a few hours a day in the winter. They may have made some good progress this summer though...
What I like is "This fifteen-week deadline could be met because the needed nuclear components were all off-the-shelf. Now that's where the Russians kick-butt. Imagine building a 50 mt warhead from parts bought at the local Radioshack and Home Depot
Interesting. So as powerpoint is the pretty much the standard for scientific conferences (or at least the many that I go to each year and I assume, but cannot comment by experience, in other disciplines) I assume you're talking about a business meetings. Most business meetings I have been to use hard reports or powerpoint. You may see here that I'm a little confused as to what you business is. Of course you may work for a company that is enlightened enough to use something other than distro, but then on the surface most other presentation software is similar to powerpoint (perhaps without the recent attack capability - must have been that last upgrade).
I don't know dude, you got me stumped here are you the janitor at a daycare center?
Which is really ironic as I've yet to hire a MIT grad. Every one that I've interviewed (and yes a pool of 5 is statistically significant, even if it is a very small representation of a population) has an ego the size of a planet and actually seems to have got a very poor education with respect to usable, practical science. However, they seem to assume that I'll hire them based on the image the MIT research gets in the media. My guess this media image is generated by a very few select departments. - Mod this for flamenait and bring on the MIT flaming (actually it'll be interesting to see how 'clever' the flaming is).
Damn! So I'm going to start getting spam emails from Lybians claiming to be the hiers/bankers/lawyers of millions of dollars of cash. If I just give them my bank account number I can share in that wealth/get a % fee. What's the IP code for Lybia I need to set my spam blocker up now and just send them all to junk mail.
Having reviewed federal proposals in this area and knowing someone from the FDA advisory committee I can say that I don't see a huge push back on the scientific level of the use of the term nanotechnology in place of surface chemistry. Not only are the majority of uses for surface chemistry, but they also seem to be for Fe or TiO2 surface chemistry (the latter requiring some form of UV activation). To be brief there is simply money to be made from the product, but more depressing is that the scientific research community have embraced these definitions, as there is research funding to be gained using this particular buzz word. What could be worse than a scientific 'expert' claiming that a small zero valent Fe particle is nanotechnology just because they know the funding sorce will be favorable if they can claim they have funded X millions of total dollars in the fancy sounding nano-research arena. For those folks that say 'in general the reviewers should be knowledgable enough to be the first round of defence', no they are not.
Just thinking of space when the person in front leans back, unfortunately I don't get to travel business and at 6ft 4in, I don't have much room. I suppose I could just buy a tablet PC...
Um, perhaps you should read the article before commenting:
"Sony said the PS3 failures were caused by unusually high temperatures created by having many of the next-gen consoles operating in close proximity to each other. 'It's not a problem with the PlayStation 3 unit itself,' Sony spokeswoman Nanako"
I don't see anything about software, but I do see something about the individual UNITS being too hot...
'It's not a problem with the PlayStation 3 unit itself,' Sony spokeswoman Nanako Kato told the AP The unit heats up too much, what else is causing the heat problem? seeesh!
If, while on a plane, I can close my computer and watch a movie on the outside I would be very happy. So I would like to see this work, but with a better and larger screen.
The human brain surely is going to take waaaay more time than a mouse brain. The human brain weighs ~1500g the mouse only ~0.4 g. That mean that it'll take ~3750 times longer to map the human brain than it took to map the mouse brain. Man they've got alot of work to do, how long's that? I ran out of fingers...
Bottom line is what do the producers of the service define as record. If they define the header and message being together as 'record' then separating the two destroys that 'record'. It doesn't mean that the message can't be recorded in some fashion. It's all about the advertising.
If you can fight the good fight within Microsoft, that's great. More power to you! However, unless and until that actually works, you are going to be judged by the company you keep.
No they're not. I feel bad for you based on your inability to separate a single persons actions from the corporate program in which they work. You statement stinks of elistism. The parent never professed to the "Everybody's doing it, so why can't I? mentality. They simply said that they did not agree with all that MS is doing and that certain practices they strongly disagreed with. Just because they strongly disagree with what their company professes as a stratergy does not mean that they should quit. That's like saying that all immigrants who disagree with Bush should leave the country. They can't vote, they can't change the way that Amercian policies move forward, arn't they just paying taxes to 'The Man' and gaining nothing but financial stability back? As an immigrant, who now owns his own multi-million dollar business, do you really think that that I should up and leave my financial security because I don't agree with the policies of the current administration, even though I currently cannot be part in changing them?
As an aside, I'm sure of the (just) 60 people that work for me some if not a few disagree with some of my business lines, well good for them. I would rather have intelligent people who understand what they agree and disagree with, and why, than sheep. The people who question are going to be the ones I promote.

but surely in a democracy, public opinion is more important than anything else, it is how we elect officials. Therefore the concern should be how we educate the public to the facts to allow a fully educated public opinion rather than try to replace the opinion with fact.
What about the mercury? Coal has relatively little and the coal fired industry still pump 40 tons into the atmosphere. They can remove the reactive gaseous mercury and the particulate, but currently the elemental removal technology is still under testing by the DOE. I bet a landfil has way more mercury than coal, and arsenic, selenium, nickel, lead, cadmium...all potential volatile, toxic metals.
Imation on one and SanDisk on the other. Not quite sure how you would get a linux kernel on them, there just doesn't seem enough room unless the font was really really small.

Who is this Zonk fellow that you all speak of with such fervor? He must be very proud to be talked about so much...
Ever heard of the elavator pitch? I'd like to see one of your defined managers do that.

Funny I just found: Use of Weapons GCU Very Little Gravitas Indeed and Excession GSV Zero Gravitas
You could name it's LSV And now it means absolutely nothing
AOL is still in service? I haven't had a CD from them in a good year or two. I thought they'd been run out of business or sold off.
