Dell had the best tech support. It was what differentiated Dell from the rest. Then Dell hired a management consulting firm to come in and see if there was a way they could improve the business. The consultant's advice was to be more like Gateway Computers and cut back on support. The result went straight to the bottom line and the stock price shot up and management and everybody made fortunes. Anybody with a clue saw what was happening and sold out. The stock price has never recovered and you know what Dell's reputation is like.
Every device I plug in seems to have its own way of communicating. Each needs its own remote. Why can't electronics manufacturers come up with a standard so that their equipment is recognized by any modern remote? I had a remote die and it was cheaper to get a new tv than fix the remote.
Stop Rural Free Delivery and see how loud remote people squeal. There are many places UPS/FEDEX won't go. The post office ends up delivering the last leg to the mailbox.
Dell used to ship fake boxes that looked and weighed the same as a computer but had accelerometers in them. But that was back in the day when Dell used Airborne Express. It would be interesting to know the results.
I once had a Federal judge prohibit me from saying "entered", as in "I entered the name into the database." This was in the early '80s. One would think judges would be a little more computer literate now.
The same thing happens to road warriors or remote offices. If you are not at the HO to rub elbows at the right parties or be seen with the right people you don't really exist no matter how successful you are. Conversely, no matter how f'ed up you are if you do throw a roaring party or golf with the boss you will survive the downsizing.
The myth is that an author passed early middle age never produces a good book.
Perhaps the mush was already there.
Sounds like a good case for jury nullification.
See Dell Computers
I have enough stuff for two astronauts.
Or like the marketing VP used to say "We're no worse than anybody else."
Just like Geller's father used to say, "The very best is plenty bad enough."
In war games that is exactly how they did it. Saturate a defense sector with missiles and decoys until the defenses burn out or run out of ammo.
Everything else is just a target.
I agree. I enjoy my nook tablet. I knew what it was and it does that well.
That's why you always require the parts to come back to the factory.
How often does math change? It seems like the math books I used back in the Stone Ages would be just as good now.
This used to be a trusted site.
If our drones can be taken so easily, we're screwed.

It seems the same thing happens with Apple hardware too. Same price everywhere.

I wish I lived on an island of stability.

I looked for him but couldn't see him.
Seems like you would need psych graduates to treat all of the unemployed in other fields.
Or force the school to pay for all those "mandatory electives" that have nothing to do with your major.
