Wow! After living in Brooklyn for the past 2 years, I can see the benefits this could have for the city:
1. Giant Air Filter;
2. World's Largest Compost Garden (couldn't smell worse than Coney Island:-/);
3. Fresh Squeezed OJ... Straight from the TAP!;
4. Another enormous reflector to further blind commuters from NJ;
Heck -- they even could have offered him a prime spot in the campaign if they wanted to.
The Obama campaign did offer him a prime spot in the campaign. Anthony turned down this opportunity (with good reason) because he already has a full time job in LA (IIRC) and the position would require him to move to Chicago. While I think the campaign staff rerouted around him unfairly and not less than a little shadily, the offer does lend some credibility to their position regarding his prior acquisition of the myspace.com/barackobama url.
This is the point of having a painfully slow congressional process. Anyone who has ever watched the House debate something on the floor via c-span (or committees online) knows that the time taken to decide anything (*especially to decide that something is worthy of a decision) is outrageous. And that is exactly what the framers had in mind when they established the rules for engaging in Congressional debates.

Seems to be more about deregulating satellite firm fees by trading off with the *AA's. From the bill's author:
...Under current law some businesses are required to pay higher licensing rates than others even though they provide essentially the same services. In addition, if a new satellite company were to be formed today they would be required to pay a higher rate than the current two companies in the market - that is not fair. Instead this bill would establish the same rates for all companies.
Meaning: the satelco lobby was yelling this week about DRM fees being handed down on their clients by the *AA, so we would level the fees for liscencing, and get cheap/free broadcasting for our presidential/re-election campaigns in 2k8 (3 of the 4 are up for re-election).
All of the benefits that [K]Ubuntu offers regarding hardware support spring tautologously from Debian. The installer and the support libraries. If you want to give out ossos's for the holidays; thats grand. Consider offering a mature and stable distro as well. After all, *nix and oss is all about choice:)
what would happen if a commercial airliner, or flock of seagulls, were to run into the cables, or even worse, the actual elevator? would the plane split into five pieces or would the cables snap and bring the satellite down on dallas? animal rights activists would have a fit.
Is it even feasible to attach a CC# or Checking Account# to some 13 year old kid's @yahoo email? I cant see the EU having the technical prowess to pull something like that off.

1001.
Agreed. portage has all the features that're being discussed here (and more) with an out-of-the-box-intuitive command line interface.
Weve found a witch! May we burn her?
